Dominick Cureton

My wife and I came in on a Monday afternoon looking for a Hybrid CR-V, walked out that evening with keys in our pocket. The entire transaction of our trade-in and purchase went very smooth. This has been the worst car-buying experience I have ever had. I purchased a new 2026 Honda CR-V from Corwin Honda on July 15 and traded in my 2024 CR-V. What should have been an exciting purchase has tur had. I purchased a new 2026 Honda CR-V from Corwin Honda on July 15 and traded in my 2024 CR-V. What should have been an exciting purchase has turned into nearly two months of financing, payoff, registration, vehicle, and communication issues. On August 1, Honda Financial began calling me 3–4 times per day about a missed payment on the CR-V I had traded in more than two weeks earlier. They told me they had been trying to contact the dealership about the payoff without success. I repeatedly followed up with Corwin trying to get this resolved. By August 19, I received a warning from Bellco about the missed payment potentially going to collections. That same day, I emailed Corwin’s General Manager explaining everything I had been dealing with. I never received a response. Not even an acknowledgment. Now, almost two months after purchasing the vehicle, my temporary plates are about to expire and, because of the delay in processing my paperwork, I still don’t have the registration documentation I need to get permanent plates. The issues haven’t stopped with the paperwork. The vehicle wasn’t even properly finished for delivery — delivery stickers were left on it, and I’m hesitant to remove them myself and risk damaging the finish. I contacted my salesperson, who said he would coordinate with detail to take care of it. I never heard back. My brand-new CR-V also has an Apple CarPlay/entertainment system that regularly crashes and a passenger seatbelt warning that goes off when nobody is sitting there. I work in the automotive industry myself, so I understand that mistakes happen. What I don’t understand is the complete lack of communication, urgency, accountability, and follow-through afterward. At every stage, I have been the one chasing Corwin for answers. It’s not one mistake — it’s the pattern. The overwhelming impression I’ve been left with is that once the sale was complete, I became just another number. When a customer is dealing with collection warnings over a traded vehicle, unresolved problems with a brand-new car, expiring temporary plates, and missing registration paperwork, you would think someone — especially after escalating it to the General Manager — could at least take the time to respond. Buying a new vehicle should be exciting. Instead, this has been an incredibly stressful experience that has dragged on for almost two months. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Corwin Honda. If you purchase here, stay on top of every part of your transaction yourself — your trade payoff, financing, registration paperwork, and vehicle condition — because unfortunately, my experience has shown me that you may be left to figure it out yourself.
