Colonial Cadillac rolls out the red carpet whenever I bring my car in for routine service. There’s coffee, snacks, TV, and Wi-Fi if you want to wait, but I usually take advantage of the shuttle. Mine is more comfortable than my couch, yet with 515 horsepower, it’s quicker than many gas cars I’ve driven. It feels solid and smooth, recognizes speed limits, responds to voice commands, and offers hands-free driving on compatible roads. Regenerative braking is another feature I’ve come to appreciate. I worried about range before buying it. After a year of driving with roughly 320 miles of range, it hasn’t been an issue for me. I charge at home most of the time and use public chargers on longer trips, often while I’m shopping or doing something else. At my rates, charging a 100 kWh battery costs about $25 at home versus $50 at a public charger charging 50 cents per kWh. I’ve also had convenient, fast charging stops at Tesla stations. I’ve driven, bought, and leased luxury cars since 2001. Cadillac has become my favorite. It has the comfort I want, the performance I love, and technology that makes it feel like the jump from a flip phone to a smartphone.
