Here’s what he had to say about his experience at Valley Honda in Aurora, Illinois: “It all started on a Saturday night when I met Derek Lee. Derek was incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. He showed me cars I was considering, like the Honda CR-V and the Honda Accord, and worked with his manager to offer an excellent deal on the Touring trim. Although the deal was enticing, I wasn’t ready to decide and appreciated that Derek wasn’t pushy. He answered all my questions patiently, leaving a great first impression. I’ve always been drawn to the CR-V for its visibility and practicality. After the holiday, Derek followed up to check on my interest. His enthusiasm and willingness to help stood out, and he took the time to explain every detail. On my second visit, Dominic D'Alesio helped me explore additional trims of the CR-V and Accord EX-L. Dominic was professional, patient, and focused on finding the best fit for me. By the third visit, I decided on the CR-V but was unsure about the trim. Derek went above and beyond, even on a rainy day, to help me weigh the pros and cons of each option. He spent hours answering questions and ensuring I was comfortable with my decision. His dedication and expertise made a big difference. I also visited other dealerships during this process and was frustrated by their lack of engagement. Some added mandatory packages and hidden fees without transparency, even refusing to appraise my car unless I committed to purchasing. Derek, in contrast, was clear about all fees and explored various financial scenarios to ensure I fully understood my options. After completing the paperwork with the business department, Derek walked me through my new car, explaining its features, accessories, and how they could benefit me in different scenarios. His thoroughness and professionalism gave me confidence in my purchase. Honestly, if it weren’t for Derek and Dominic’s exceptional service, I might have gone elsewhere or even chosen a different brand. Their dedication made this the best car-buying experience I’ve ever had. Valley Honda’s service department is also outstanding—organized, spacious, and with great amenities. Even though it’s an hour away, I plan to return for future services. A huge thanks to Derek and Dominic, and the entire team for going above and beyond. The facility was very accomodating, coffee bar, snacks…made you feel right at home! The sales manager was unpleasant to work with. We were told we would get the first 3 oil changes free and tha snacks…made you feel right at home! The sales manager was unpleasant to work with. We were told we would get the first 3 oil changes free and that was not the case. Never over promise! We were practically forced to purchase the extended warranty. We wrote a check for the total sale price and didn’t have to deal with the financing dept but still spent over an hour processing the paperwork. I guess when a transaction that typically takes 15 min takes over an hour you need to make your customers feel at home…. More
