Bought a brand new Limited Edition Toyota RAV4. Explained it was important to have GPS in the car. Sales associate and general manager assured me the GPS was excellent. They carefully demonstrated the various features, etc. No one said a word about an ANNUAL subscription cost. One year later, the GPS suddenly stopped working. Found out only then that I have to pay an annual fee to have a functioning GPS. The sales associate and general manager at Michael's Toyota clearly presented their "GPS spiel" so as to carefully avoid mentioning the annual subscription. That was dishonest and petty. I paid handsomely for a brand new top-of-the-line RAV4 but they still went out of their way to nickel-and-dime me while being devious at the same time. Went back to the dealership today. The general Sales Manager spoke to me like I was an idiot for not knowing there was an annual subscription cost. Made it clear he couldn't care less about my trivial problem. Recommend you avoid this dealership.

Got my Corolla Cross with this dealership. The sale was easy (partly because I did not need any financing). My issue with the dealership is with their service center. The service specialist was rude and condescending. Found an issue with my car after a software update, called in for advice and they won't admit that issue may be caused by the update although I have found other people on different forums reporting the same thing. I offered to send in my findings for them to take a look first but they refused. The fix was simply to disconnect the battery and reconnect it, but if I take it to the service center they will charge you $200+ for fee (as there will be no way to prove the issue was due to the software update). A little more politeness and understanding would be appreciated. It may be inevitable that they can't offer guarantee via the phone, but the attitude of the specialist was rude, telling me if I have a way to fix it at home then I can do that. If you have no issue with your car, you'd probably be ok with this dealership.

I have gone to this dealership for years due to their location, and have hesitated leaving a review. I have had enough. 2 years ago, I was in the market for a new vehicle and I was interested in the grand highlander. Bella, the front desk concierge showed me the vehicle and I loved it, but she said it didn't come in a hybrid version. I clarified with her to make sure it was not manufactured at all and not just OOS and she confirmed. I later found out that was a lie. When I eventually purchased my vehicle with them last year, they kept pushing back the available date after I sent my deposit in a few months prior. There was some back and forth communication and I expressed my frustration with how they never communicated updates with me even though the sales guy Alex said I would be getting updates whenever they had any. Within a month of receiving my grand highlander, the rubber insulation would pop out on top of the roof of my car and services told me that's normal. The back bars to the third row keeps breaking from normal use of the vehicle. This is not what I would expect from a $65,000 vehicle. The icing on the cake is the constant miscommunication between the front desk and services, between either of them telling me drop off services is available, and not. The front desk is always brisk and blunt about it, saying it's not available, without specifying they only offer it on the weekdays (which was info I had to pry out from them after multiple conversations with three different people) and that I had to tell them beforehand. When I do tell them beforehand, it's a game of telephone between the front desk and services. Eventually when I do get it scheduled, I get more attitude about whether or not I'm within the 8 mile driving range allotted (I definitely am and actually moved closer to them). I received attitude from the front desk about this. I asked about an interior cleaning and services gave me incorrect information, making me feel like I have to ask ridiculously specific questions to be able to get the answer I need, such as paying for a quick interior vacuum (only to find out they'd only vacuum the driver's side and nothing more). Nothing makes sense and lacks thought or care for what a customer may want when they're asking about services. They will offer you $50 oil changes, but it will take up to FIVE HOURS. Currently waiting on my oil change going into hour six. They have waiting appointments which means it'll be done in 1-2 hours, but if those aren't available, you have to do a drop off appointment where they quote 4-5 hours and still go over the time, as ridiculous as the quote is. At this point, it is far easier to just go to Meineke and pay double to get it done in 45 minutes.

In December 2024, I took my Toyota Sienna in for service at Toyota of Kirkland and was charged over $2,100 — with nearly $617 in what I believe were excessive and unjustified charges. Despite reaching out directly, and filing complaints through Toyota Corporate, the Better Business Bureau, and the Washington Attorney General’s office, Toyota of Kirkland repeatedly refused to address the core issues I raised. My concerns: Labor Charges: I was billed at $200.37 per hour — significantly higher than the regional average for Toyota dealerships in Western Washington. When I asked for an explanation, I received only cherry-picked comparisons to other overpriced dealers, rather than any real justification for their rate. Parts Overpricing: I was charged $30.60 each for spark plugs with a Toyota MSRP of $18.95 (available at multiple dealerships for under $15). An intake manifold gasket was charged at nearly double its MSRP. This pattern repeated across multiple line items, including transmission fluid. Questionable Billing Practices: I was billed for a full additional labor hour for throttle body cleaning — despite that being part of the spark plug replacement procedure. The invoice listed only one technician, but over 7 hours of labor were charged in a ~6-hour window. I attempted to resolve this in good faith through months of emails and escalations. At every stage, Toyota of Kirkland either ignored the specific pricing discrepancies or deflected with irrelevant comparisons. Their final response was to simply state that they are “allowed to make a profit.” I agree — businesses can make a profit. But this was price gouging, not profit. We won’t be returning to Toyota of Kirkland. We’ve found a highly rated independent shop and will be sharing this experience with friends, family, and neighbors. If you care about transparency or fair pricing, I strongly recommend taking your vehicle elsewhere.
