I purchased a 2023 Toyota Prius Prime XSE in November 2023. The dealership failed to notify me that there were no snow tires available for this car when I purchased it, and I live in Syracuse, NY, which has one of the snowiest winters in the northeast. I have owned Prius's since 2006 and learned that snow tires were essential for navigating Central New York roads in the winter. I researched and discovered that I could create a snow tire that fit the car by combining a certain size tire and hub. I got the dealer's parts department to order the tires and hubs I selected and they ordered the wrong hub and had to reorder it. They finally got the order right and installed the snow tires. After the tires were installed, the TPMS low pressure indicator lit up. I brought the car back to the dealer and they told me that they failed to order the correct TPMS sensors for the snow tires, and had to order the correct ones. In all, I made 3 extra trips to the dealer to get snow tires put on my new car, but my main complaint is that the car was sold to me without telling me that there was a problem with snow tire availability. In addition, the cost for the custom-made snow tires was substantially more than if I had snow tires already available for the car.
