The recent experience I had at Arlington Heights Nissan - Ann Quiring
The recent experience I had at Arlington Heights Nissan dealership was a disappointing portrayal of the brand's integrity. The advertised price for the vehicle was contingent upon financing at a high APR of 9.99%. When I expressed my intention to pay in cash, the price increased by $5,000 immediately.
Notably, neither the dealership website nor listings on platforms like cars.com specified that the listed price applied solely to financing customers. The dealership manager candidly explained that their profit margins are primarily derived from lending institutions, and they assert they offer the lowest prices, implying that I would be unable to find better deals elsewhere.
Having previously purchased vehicles in multiple states, I have never encountered such practices. The manager seemed almost boastful about what appears to be misleading advertising, highlighting a significant disparity—his dealership sold 52 cars in a day compared to only 6 by their competitors. This approach to sales feels disreputable, and I will opt to purchase my next vehicle from a dealership that prioritizes transparency and ethical business practices.
