I was looking for a car with good mileage and a low profile into which I could easily load a full-sized pedal harp. Bill was nonplussed when I lowered the rear seats, slid in my foam mattress, and pro profile into which I could easily load a full-sized pedal harp. Bill was nonplussed when I lowered the rear seats, slid in my foam mattress, and proceeded to shove my 6-foot-2 inch instrument into the back of a new Outback. He was gracious when I declined his gentlemanly offers of help, since I had to do it myself. Neil, who was watching from the window, said it would make a great Subaru commercial, although I am still waiting for my casting call. I had a positive experience with Folger because they made it so easy to take the car home where I could try loading other things, like dog crates; they were great about calling me as soon as the exact car I wanted came in; and they (or their computer) was attentive enough to send me a happy birthday email based on the information on my driver's license. Which is more than I can say for my son. More
My husband emailed several dealerships on a Saturday and Folgers was the quickest to respond. We were able to do everything via the Internet and it was very easy. We had everything we needed before we went to the dealership and everything was the same as what was negotiated in advance. There were no hidden fees or price increases/changes. It was well worth the drive from Asheville to Charlotte to buy the car from Folgers. The Internet made it so a lot less time spent at the dealership. Normally, you can spend two to four hours to buy a car and we spent just a little over an hour. . We had a few features upgraded on the 2010 Forester and that added to the time a little. Tom made the financing paperwork quick and accurate. Jim was helpful and knowledgeable. The staff worked well with our family. We would buy another car from Folgers and also utilize the convenience of the Internet again. More
Was just beginning a search for my first new car in 12 years. Don made my son and I feel comfortable, and we really appreciated his kindness and sense of humor. Tom and Neal were also attentive and professional. When I returned the next day to deliver the title to my trade-in, Don wasn't there, but Neal and Tom stepped in to take care of the details. Don also made a very nice follow-up phone call and sent a congratulatory note in the mail. They all made the experience much more pleasant than I had anticipated. I also really liked the fact that they were all neatly dressed, but not wearing suits - which seems a little formal and off-putting to me. The facility was neat and attractive, and I was not talked down to. They offerred reasonable finance options which were clearly presented. More
The personnel at Folger Subaru went far beyond that of any usual dealership that I have ever worked with in the past. I had very specific needs in the vehicle and they searched the globe until my specifics were met. The process was easy. Opposite of what I expected, I was not swayed or convinced to make a purchase that I was not confident with. I had previously made an appointment to meet with Bill Barber to view a 2006 Jeep Commander. On the day of our appointment, he not only made a courtesy call, but he had the vehicle detailed and ready for viewing upon my arrival. He was extremely knowledgeable about the vehicle and had the car history ready for my screening. The customer service at the dealership was stellar. The employees at Folgers really made a team effort to provide me with all of my needs. In particular, Bill showed extreme patience during my rare car buying experience. His personality made the experience enjoyable and eased my nervousness about making a purchase. The next day I called my insurance agent, only to find out that Bill had already contacted them with all of the details. My policy was already in place. Bill had also made arrangements for my trade in tag to be mailed to the DMV, saving me yet another step in the process. Steven Bell and Neil Gelbert were also invaluable. They patiently worked with my situation until we had a deal that I was comfortable with. Without their help, this deal would not have happened. Kudus to Folgers automotive for having such superior service run by a phenomenal staff. I will happily and confidently recommend this dealership to anyone seeking to purchase a vehicle. More

Our experience at Folger Subaru was the best car buying experience we've ever had. Robert Pebler was a PLEASURE to work with! Rob was amazing from start to finish. It was like working with a friend not a pushy sales person. Regarding Question #2 Above...The car was not as clean as we would have hoped. The outside looked OK (not great) and the interior front and back windows had a film on them as if they'd been cleaned with the same cloth used to wipe off the dash. If we lived closer we would have brought it back. The only other thing we feel Subaru could improve upon is being more transparent about their 63 month in lieu of 60 month finance agreements. As we live several hours away, all of our correspondence was via email regarding the price and finance offers. It was never disclosed that a 60 month loan was not available until we were face-to-face with the manager ready to sign the purchase agreement. Overall, Rob's friendly nature made this experience one we are still talking about today. We've told our story to many friends and plan to continue singing Folger Subaru AND Rob's praises! When I came to Folger Subaru I was not planning on purchasing a car from there. I was just looking around, thinking I was going to purchase a VW or BMW. I met with Jim Gamble(nicest guy, hands down) after speaking with Neil(prompt and friendly) and we began talking about my trade in and what I was in the market for. I am a very satisfied customer; everyone who I dealt with were never pushy, very willing to work with my needs and requests and most importantly to me, personal and approachable. Jim is a family man and I appreciate that quality when walking into a dealership. I purchased a 2010 Forte that was a great deal to me. They go above and beyond what they need to, to ensure you are 100% satisfied. There was a scratch on my hood that they immediately had buffed out. Tom was excellent when it came to financing and I got a great monthly payment that actually freed up some money for my family. Who knew. Best car buying experience for me ever. Thanks guys!!! More
