Already had this discussion with them as well as another licensed mechanic that says your guys full of it and just trying to sell parts not needed to pass inspection. Guess this will be the last vehicle i buy from W&L. Unless you have a Subaru they will try to upcharge you on everything. Last year you tried on lugnuts for over $100/set. I looked them up while waiting. Could buy all the lugnuts for all the wheels for less than $100. You lost a customer. Plain and simple. While the ball joint was most likely needed. The manifold was not. It was never removed from the engine to check for warpage as you tried to tell me. You need to check with a straight edge. Told to me by others as well. I didn't fall for it.

Well the Yukon passed inspection. There is NO exhaust leak. Yes it shows the head of the bolt missing but the rest of the threads are there. Also, surprise, surprise the ball joint was not bad either. So are you still going to stick by your technician who was obviously wrong or instructed to create a problem so you can charge the customer an astronomical amount. Not this guy because i knew better. And it passed inspection with flying colors. So not only have you lost a service customer but also a future return customer. I will also spread the word of how you conduct your service department. I think some may need to go back to school.

Thank you for all your feedback. Our policy here is to follow state guidelines and based on those guidelines, your 2012 GMC Yukon did not pass inspection. If you were able to shop around and find a technician who will pass cars that have problems, that is completely up to you. I didn’t shop around. I went to my mechanic that I always used. He showed me everything. Including the fact you never greased anything on the Yukon that goes with a service. He showed me the ball joint that had no play. He also told me he could not see the back of the manifold from either on the lift or from the top. Had to go in through the wheel well in order to see the bolt which the head is just broke off. No. Nada. None as far as exhaust leak. Oh and the mechanic is licensed and has been for over 40 years. Not some shade tree mechanic who does a lick and stick. You can stand by yourselves as much as you want if it makes you feel better. But you lost this customer and i will be letting people know about your practices of trying to put parts on vehicles that dont need it.
