When our own mechanic found that the exhaust pressure control valve was stuck closed in the vehicle we were considering, Mr. Lucas made sure that it was fixed in a prompt and timely way. Mr. Lucas followed up with us both before and after our purchase and made sure that all the details of purchase and registration were completed for us. Since we only buy vehicles every 8-10 years, we have not had much recent experience purchasing a vehicle, but Mr. Lucas made it a very smooth process. He did not even register much surprise when these two ole gals came in and had three requirements: a Jetta diesel with manual transmission. I filled out and signed all the papers & got a call the next day to come back and redue all the paperwork, Rafael made a mistake. The car had 7,000 miles on it I asked if anything needed to be done, i.e. oil change, tire rotation, I was told to check carfax. Years ago I got courtesy plates from a Senator. Due to leasing my cars I didn't use the plates but I didn't turn them in. I asked Rafael if I could use them on the Passat & he said sure no problem. When I got the call my plates & registration was in, I knew he didn't do what he said he would. I was right! I had totally different plates. His reply was I had to call motor vehicle. While one of the salemen was putting the plates on my car he handed me a piece of paper & told me I had to take it to motor vehicle. There was an office in Springfield I could go to. I went to Springfield & the line wasn't bad, about 20 minutes only to be told they couldn't help me I had to go to an agency that did inspections. I got up at 6:00 AM on a Saturday to go to the motor vehicle agency in Freehold. My mom lives 10 minutes away from that agency. While I was in line an employee took a look at the sticker on my car. I handed him the green piece of paper the dealership gave me & told him what they said I had to do. He told me not so my car was fine, come back in four years to be inspected. Christine called & told me they felt bad about the plates so they would take care of everything. I had to bring them my registration card. I had already called motor vehicle & was told what to do. I should have asked Christine why they needed my registration card but I just told her I am taking care of everything. I was advised my car needed its 10,000 mile check-up. I dropped the car off on my way to work & was given a ride by their courtesy vehicle. They told me I would be picked up after work which is 4:30 PM. At 4:40 I called to see where they were & was told they were sorry but it was a different driver & he would be here any minute. Finally at 5:00 PM I called a friend to come pick me up. The service department told me they were sorry & it wouldn't happen again. I told him he was right because I would rather spend $50.00 to take the car to a different dealership than to have to deal with them again. I would recommend the car to anybody but not the dealership. I would tell people to go to Maplewood. Unfortunately I heard good things about them too late. More

Stupid Liars I was looking to buy a pre-owned TDI Jetta. I found one I liked except that it had a noise of a fuel pump going bad. So we went to the service center I was looking to buy a pre-owned TDI Jetta. I found one I liked except that it had a noise of a fuel pump going bad. So we went to the service center to get the opinion of an "expert." He told us the fuel pumps never go bad. (Lie #1). We bought the car. On the way home to check engine light went on. We brought the vehicle back and it was the fuel pumps. The previous owner had it towed in and had work done on the electrical system pertaining to the fuel system. They claimed during that fix they over primed two pumps (Lie #2 not possible to over prime them) hence why the fuel pumps went bad. They never called me to update me on my vehicle when it was in the shop. When I called for updates I was put on hold forever and a few times hung up on. They treated me like disrespectfully. First it was one electrical pump. Then it was two pumps - electrical and high pressure. Then it was two electrical. They could not get their story straight about what pumps they had to replace. Now I am back at a different VW service center only to find out that whoever was working the car did not put it back together properly so something electrical disconnected making it impossible to start my car this morning. Volkswagen should shut down Union Volkswagen service center because they are a disgrace to the company name. Their quality of work is terrible. I would never go there again and have made sure all my friends and family know to NEVER go there even if they are giving something away for free. More
