This was by far the BEST car buying experience i have EVER had. From the minute I walked in, till the time I departed, Robert and the staff made me feel at home. The fact that he enjoys his job made the experience of buying a car more enjoyable. This dealer ship also has an exotic car branch. Robert sell cars for both part of the company. No matter what car you buy his level of service and attention to detail is top notch. I can honestly say that the next car I buy will be from Robert and The Autobarn or Mt. Prospect More
My wife and I had made an appointment to look at a Subaru Imprezza that we fully intended on buying just this last Saturday. After our 3 1/2 hour drive from Decatur we were informed by the sales mgr(?) that the car was sold but Kalina would help us out AND they had sent another email telling us it had been sold, (sent an hour after we left home!). At that point the sales manager quickly left. The salesperson (Zoltan) that we had the appointment with was nowhere to be found, apparently didn't have the courage to face 2 very pissed off customers so they stuck Kalina with trying to make us happy. Kalina did her best to try to make the situation better but there really wasn't much she could do, there were no comparable cars in the same price range and no discount was offered for our inconvenience even though this was in the email Zoltan sent after the fact "I spoke with management and they are open to working with you given your driving distance and the tentative status of the deal." We began to feel like this was a bait & switch operation, especially after witnessing the sales mgr(?) verbally work over a customer in the office next to us. We left and went to the Subaru dealer right down the street and drove home in a Subaru Forester from Roto Subaru. Autobarn you screwed up and I will tell anyone thinking about buying a VW or a used car to avoid you like the plague. More

I recently bought a used 2012 GTI from Chris Krause. Chris was very helpful, knowledgable, and courteous. We purchased our vehicle on March 30. Experience was typical car buying experience. Joe in finance was terrific, the best part. Unfortunately, there was a defect noticed on the spoiler. The paint was not cured properly before the plastic was adhered and it caused the defect. We were told it may be a couple of days to get the car repaired, which we were OK with since the repair was only cosmetic. We took the car in on a Friday and were told it would be completed the following Monday. It was not. Nor was it completed Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday - even after being "guaranteed" it would be finished. Each day there was another reason why it was not done. I will give credit to John Paul for his customer service service skills. I was very angry the last time speaking with him and he remained calm and collected. Not at all happy with the run-around I am getting about my car, however. We still do not have the vehicle and have been told it will absolutely be ready on Monday. That makes it 12 days we have had the car and 11 days it has been in the shop. Not a great experience so far. I hope to post a future update with a much more favorable review. Update: Did not get the car back on time and the body shop used to repair the spoiler did not do an adequate job. My wife decided that she would not accept the work and demanded they complete it properly. The good news is Autobarn stepped up and provided us a convertible loaner and the car was completed the next day. We were kept up to date on the progress and the customer service increased dramatically. Further, VW stepped in and made things right for us. We have the car back, and we absolutely love it. More

After deciding to purchase a new car I ended up stopping by the VW dealership to test drive the Jetta and the Passat. Zhanna - was a pleasure to deal with. She showed us two cars and was willing to work with us as far as the price and the model was concerned. We went for a test drive where she courteously sat in the back so my companion could sit in the front. She made us feel very comfortable which is important when making such a big purchase. While we are still looking at different cars if I do end up buying a VW it will definitely be from Zhanna Mahera. More
