I've always loved VW Beetles but with 4 kids put the idea of getting one on the back burner. Well, now that the kids are getting older we decided that we needed a 3rd car and of course it needed to be idea of getting one on the back burner. We noticed that there were new 2013 still available and challenged Marc and Raffi to find a 6 speed convertible. I'm not sure why but automatic seems to be more popular so it was like looking for a needle in a haystack. They were able to find one and it had everything we wanted and more. When it came to the financing Raffi was a magician and got us exactly what we needed to make the deal work. In the end Mike walked us through all the paperwork and explained everything in detail but it didn't take forever like other dealerships I have been too. After an exhaustive search, he found the exact car in the color and options i needed. He made sure we were comfortable on pricing and trade in value. While we were there,my wife decided that she really wanted a Beetle, Sooooo, we bought two cars that day. Marc's Manager, Raffi, bent over backwards to accommodate our finical needs and Joey Ruffolo, who was not involved in the sale at all was more than happy to answer any questions we had and talking to us about his own VW. These guys love the brand and it shows. This speak volumes on how pleased we were with The Autobarn and their staff. Found this car online and because it met the criteria we were looking for, we drove 75+miles to this dealership to see it. Mike Audino was instrumental in helping us find the right financing for our vehicle and accompanying warranty. Breaking it down so we'd view the cost over the loan term verses a lump sum, which really helped us see the value (we're warranty nuts anyways). Even being nearly 9 hours away from the dealership I feel like it's right in my own city, they really emphasize that their service isn't "buy and bye" and I can tell you with 100% certainty they live up to their philosophy. The car was found exactly Dealerships just don't get any better. I came to Chicagoland from Colorado, on trust/faith to buy a 2012 VW Golf TDI. The car was found exactly as promised, and what additional areas of concern I had were handily and expeditiously addressed by Joey Ruffolo, Vic Jalili and the staff there. It took me nearly 8-10 months to find just the right TDI Golf that I could afford, with low mileage, and rightly treated by the prior owner. I was even given some free parts costing pretty significantly as I thought they were included, but as I discovered later, really were not. This is definitely a committed team for the long-term and a real joy to work with. On the second trip to The Autobarn Mt. Prospect, to get these items straightened out, the salesperson, Joey Ruffolo, was actually, himself, hard at work, helping detail the car. They didn't have to do this and it was dirty from having driven to Wisconsin the day prior. Vic Jalili even called a senior detailer and asked him, as well as the Senior Service Manager, Bill Dolan, to "DROP EVERYTHING" for me, investigate the poor mileage that this car (possibly due to sub-zero temperatures this month) was delivering, and to help get a difficult stain removed on the center console. When Joey, Vic, and Bill realized that I was still in Chicago for a few hours longer, they took full advantage of the time window and did everything humanly possible to get the remaining items resolved--a true "ALL HANDS ON DECK" effort. The Autobarn gave me great pricing that was below all of the other dealers that I viewed. Why would anybody in their right mind come to Chicago in the Winter, rent a car, and brave 0F, to buy a car? I have some VW experience as well. My Mom just bought a new '14 Jetta at a prodigious dealership in Southern California and endured nearly 6 straight hours of slime-ball, hard-core sales tactics, with the staff nearly coercing her to buy thousands of dollars of expensive warranties. Here, at The Autobarn, I just explained that I lacked the funds and the issue was summarily dropped, as it should be everywhere. When I buy another VW, I'll definitely be calling Joey Ruffolo to see what he can arrange, sending my friends to him and Vic's talented staff as well. More
