Hello Chuck. Our hourly rate is $230. That is not our minimum service charge. There is a myriad of services that do not require an hour of labor time. Oil Changes, for instance, start at $89 and that includes the oil and filter. Tire rotations are $45. Tire patches are around the same and to mount and balance a single tire would be $35. Many light bulb services are less and then there are plenty of services that we do not charge any labor on like fluid top offs, wiper blade replacement, key fob battery replacement etc. We also do not require service with a purchase so if someone is very handy or has their own technician they want to use at an independent shop, we will sell the parts only. $230 is what is our hourly shop rate and our rate for the removal of old battery, installation and programming of the new battery. We also currently have a coupon online for $25 off a battery special taking labor down to $205. I apologize for your son's experience and any poor communications on our part. I do understand that the cars major problems came from the factory, what I’m not satisfied with was being lied to and then when I was right about my diagnosis on two separate issues, there was no compensation of any kind discussed. And now after the 7 or 8 times I’ve brought the car in and the right driveshaft had been replaced, it’s still making a rattling/grinding noise when turning left under acceleration. Oh and the infotainment system keeps rejecting my phone through Bluetooth even though I had the latest update.
