Told them exactly what was wrong with the car. Needed a coolant temp sensor. It was going open when ambient temp was below 20F or so. Scheduled appointment a week out. Was told at the appointment they needed to order the part. Really? Told them I wanted a NYS inspection. Intentionally made sure the car had no codes and was driven far enough that it was ready. They unhooked the battery and did the repair before even thinking about the inspection, then told me a story about the car throwing a code. I wasn't born yesterday. They handled it totally wrong. When a customer calls and tells you you need a temp sensor and it sounds like they might know what they're talking about order the part! Then when the customer tells you they need a NYS inspection check for codes and do it before the repair. It's not rocket science. More
