Beware of deceptive business practices! I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with Vandergriff Hyundai. I purchased a vehicle in early March 2025, put down a $3,000 I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with Vandergriff Hyundai. I purchased a vehicle in early March 2025, put down a $3,000 down payment, and was fully approved through financing. Over a month later, the lender backed out of the deal (not my fault), and I was forced to return the vehicle to the dealership. I was initially told I’d receive my full down payment back, but Vandergriff Hyundai management (used and general sales managers) then informed me they were withholding over $400 due to “mileage.” There was nothing in the contract stating they could legally do this, especially when the deal was canceled by the lender—not by me. When I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, Vandergriff Hyundai doubled down and falsely claimed there was damage to the vehicle, citing a “splash shield” issue. This was not true—the splash shield was loose and was removed by the dealership themselves after I notified them of it during my ownership. At no point was this ever mentioned as damage until I challenged their decision to withhold my money. Only after I pushed back and exposed their lies on the BBB did they finally refund the remaining amount of my down payment. This whole experience felt shady and dishonest. I expected professionalism and transparency but was instead met with deceptive tactics, false claims, and a lack of accountability. I would strongly urge anyone considering buying a car here to shop elsewhere. This dealer violated the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices act and several other consumer laws of Texas with these business practices. More

I took my SUV into VanderGriff Huyndai and they found the issue I reported and fixed it. They found another issue needing attention and my extended warranty paid for that. I have long been extremely unhappy with the service department. I had my older model Hyundai towed here because it would not start. They had my car for over a week, charged me over $900 and two days la department. I had my older model Hyundai towed here because it would not start. I inquired about a loaner vehicle to the service advisor he stated there were none available, and I would be put on a waiting list, Monday through Thursday no response re loaner vehicle. It started off great; I found a great car for a great price, and they even let me take the car for a few days for free to see if I really wanted it. When I brought it back and was ready to buy, my experience flipped completely. The listing price online does NOT reflect what the price will be. Obviously, I expected tax/title/license fees, but the other fees added were insane and not mentioned until I was sitting there ready to buy the car. They add on all of these packages, many of which are optional, but a few they claim are "non-negotiable"...newsflash, they are negotiable! It threw me off so much that even when I got them down to the price I was expecting, I didn't notice that they upped the listing price by $500 from when I took the car a few days prior. I noticed too late and got scammed $500, and I don't even have a spare key or floormats for my used car. They dragged out the process so much on a Monday night, and it was such a stressful experience for me. If you listen to anything you read on the internet, listen to this...take your business elsewhere! This place sucks. Shady people who are trying to scam you. Stay away! More

Additionally, the finance team clearly explained the best financing options, making the decision esay to understand. I highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a car- they make the buying process smooth and stress-free. More
