I took my 2008 Scion XB to Toyota of Runnemede because it began to make a squealing noise. They got me in right away. So far so good. Don Applegarth called me later in the day telling me the brakes needed replacing and that the drive belt was making noise although I never heard a noise from the belt. Don also recommend an air filter and a cleaning of the throttle body. The brakes quoted for $249.95. The serpentine drive belt for 181.99 and the air filter and throttle body cleaning quoted at $129. Here are my problems. First the cost of the work was pricey even by dealer standards. For 249.95 they ONLY did the back brakes and I was never told the price was only for the back brakes. It was just the brake shoes and resurfacing...nothing else. Holman Toyota quoted to me over the phone after the fact front and back brakes for $225 and I even asked if that was front and back. Brakes shops advertise $100 for each axle provided there are no additional parts. The drive belt at 71.99 for parts and 71.99 for labor is again at the high end of the scale. I declined the air filter and throttle body cleaning because that would have brought the bill to nearly $600. I told Don Applegrath over the phone I had a coupon from the dealer website and I asked if they would honor it and he said they would although he did not ask for the specifics. Here is the part that really bugs me. The dealer got the car at 9:00 am in the morning. Don called me at 6:00 pm to tell me the car was done. The service center closes at 4:30. So I show up at 6:15 with my 13% off coupon and the cashier says she can't help me. Don was long gone. The cashier tells me there is nobody to talk to because service is closed. Don was not answering his phone either. Don did manage a 10% discount on the drive belt repair but that was nowhere near the 13% on recommended repairs. So the over all experience was in my opinion less than professional. I even left a message with Fran Kline (as stated to do on the invoice if you had any problems) and have yet to hear back. My low marks are for poor communication from the service writer, pricey work and no follow up. 447.04 for rear brakes and serpentine belt. They also did a recall repair which they never told me about or explained. I give this dealership low marks because in my opinion this dealership does things old school. In todays world there a dealers who know it is 2013 and treat you better. I will go there from now on. More

I bought a used certified truck from Toyota of Runnemede on November 27th, 2012. They were very friendly throughout the sales process. The price was good and I purchased the vehicle and brought it home. on November 27th, 2012. They were very friendly throughout the sales process. The price was good and I purchased the vehicle and brought it home. A day or so later I noticed a large dent (approx 5"x6") on top of the truck cab on the passenger side that they never mentioned. When I asked during the sales process if the truck had any damage that I should know about, I was told by Marcus McWhorter, among other things, that they weren't allowed to certify vehicles that had any kind of body damage. And the inspection sheet for the vehicle indicated that there were no significant dents or dings. Upon finding the damage, I contacted Marcus to notify him that I'd found the dent and that I wanted it fixed. They agreed to address it and asked that I bring the truck in. I live 4.5 hours away. So I requested that they arrange to enable me to take it to a closer Toyota dealership to have it fixed. They asked for pics of the dent and a repair estimate, both of which I provided (the estimate was from Empire Toyota in Oneonta, NY and totaled $600 to repair the dent). I've called countless times, left multiple voicemails for Marcus McWhorter, Ernie Ponti and Bob Ferri and sent multiple emails to each of them asking for the next steps to get the dent fixed. They refuse to return my calls or respond to my emails. In addition to the dent problem, I've made repeated requests for the document (showed to me during the sales process) that details the repairs they made to the vehicle in order to certify it. They've refused to provide that document and there's no indication of any repairs made by them whatsoever in Toyota's official service history (to be found at their website for vehicle owners). So I'm left wondering if they made any repairs at all to the vehicle or even did a thorough inspection at all. My experience with Toyota of Runnemede has been a nightmare since the purchase. More
John was Magic. A real Winner for the little guy . We actually enjoyed working through the final numbers . Sure we paid more then the cost that Turnersville gave us. But it was worth every penny . I purchased a 2012 Toyota Camry LXE from Toyota of Runnemede yesterday (10/20/12). I felt the purchase price was very good, the sales team was wonderful, and the delivery was fast and painless. My sales person was Lisa L. (Didn't know if I should put her full name on the internet!) Lisa was warm, patient, and knowledgeable. My husband and I came in for a test drive mid-week when things were quiet. Lisa greeted us , listened to our needs, and helped us decide on the model that would suit us best. She was very knowledgeable about cars. With Lisa, we felt more like friends than customers. She provided us with printouts of the car and a written copy of her offer. I found that refreshing. We took the offer home and looked the papers over at our leisure and compared it to other quotes from local (and not so local) dealers. In truth, we haggled strenuously at other dealers and got a slightly lower price. I truly believe that there wasn't much wiggle room left in this deal. I presented my findings to Lisa in an e-mail, and she called me back with a counter offer that accounted for the difference. Lisa was open and honest with me and we came to a price we could both find fair. I did my homework and researched the vehicle on-line to obtain internet prices for the vehicles. I also requested internet prices from all the local dealers. With all of that, Runnemede was still tied for the best offer. Best of all, there were NO GAMES played (let me ask my manager while I disappear for hours...let's quote a cheap price and add on tons of nonsense fees...etc.). None of those things happened here. Lisa and Runnemede treated me fairly. Lisa's straight-forward, low-pressure sales technique and warm nature convinced us to make the deal in Runnemede as opposed to another dealer. I hope the owners know what a gem they have in Lisa! On our second trip, we did a quick test drive and finalized the deal. I was in and out in a little under two hours. Most of that time was just calling the insurance company, filling out papers, and going over the features of the vehicle (in the vehicle). It was remarkably quick. In the back room, Rob was also up front. While it is the F & I manager's job to sell you additional revenue boosters such as the extended warranty, rust protection, paint coating, etc., Rob didn't strong-arm us into these things. He made his case and took my refusal easily. After a brief attempt to convince me (no salesman should take no the first time), he then moved on to closing the deal. I was only in the back for about 5-10 minutes if that. In the end, I only purchased VIN etching which was worth the little bit extra for the convenience of having it done and having the added insurance provided. Hopefully, we won't need it. When the deal was complete, Lisa spent time making sure I understood how to use the special features on the vehicle. She paired my phone to the car and even set up the radio with my favorite stations. Overall, I had an exemplary experience at Runnemede. Usually, car buying involves a a pounding headache. No headaches were felt this time. I left smiling. I'm not even having the "look how much I spent" coronary that usually follows the next day. In truth, I feel that the deal was very good. He answered all of our questions and even my husband, who is VERY hard to please said, "John is a pretty good guy.". That means a lot coming from him!!!
