Hi SAD, Given that there seemed to be some confusion about where your address would eventually be, I'm sure this had something to do with why we didn't install the bracket. The license plate bracket is something we can take care of at any time during our hours of operation, without an appointment or a phone call. After reviewing your file, all the documents we have were in your husband's name only. Customers dictate who shall be registered owners, not Toyota of Lancaster. Toyota of Lancaster, You are exasperating the issues by making excuses for yourself. First of all, there should have been NO confusion as to where our permanent address would be, since we gave you our permanent address (a California address) when we registered the car... In California. The fact that the car was sold and registered in California alone should have prompted the dealer to at least offer to install the bracket before driving off with our newly purchased vehicle. You say that we can return to your dealership to have the work done free of charge. The issue is, we now live 2+ hours away (still in California, mind you. Not that that’s relevant since our permanent address and registration was given to you in California). We have already made the drive and were not notified that the service department would be closing early and we would have to reschedule. I simply cannot make the 4+ hour drive (round trip) again for something that should have been done at the time of purchase. Regarding the name on file — July specifically asked us who’s name we would like on the registration and we were very clear that we wanted both of our names. He came back two hours later with all of the paperwork done in just my husband’s name. We did not have the time to wait around for another two+ hours to have the issue resolved (July said he would have to start the paperwork over from the beginning if we wanted to add my name). So, regarding your “ Customers dictate who shall be registered owners, not Toyota of Lancaster.” comment, that is untrue. We did dictate both of our names and Toyota of Lancaster only put one. I have contacted another Toyota dealer and they confirmed that it IS possible for Toyota of Lancaster to send them payment and have the work done there. Your continual lying to cover up your mistakes is further exasperating the issue.
