I drove 45+ minutes to Rice to buy a car. I tried to buy a Scion tC from a dealer east of Rice and the saleman was trying to make a quota and was unwilling to look for a 2010. Peter Salman (mechanic at Rice) suggested I work with Chris Matthews. Chris went out of his way to stay in touch, make sure we were happy with the color and options, and helped us locate the exact car we wanted. We were given an excellent deal with no hassles. We were called when the car was available and the wing was installed and the car detailed when we picked it up. I would reccomend dealling with Rice and Chris Matthews to anyone....this was painless. More
While going through an online no-haggle price program, I was put in contact with 3 Toyota dealerships. He proactively searched for the perfect vehicle for me and provided timely email responses to my questions. Additionally, the price offered by Rice Toyota was significantly better than the other 2 dealerships. After arriving at Rice, I test drove both a new vehicle and a used. I decided to purchase the used and was not pressured in any way to buy a new vehicle. Although I did not buy a new vehicle, based on my experience, I recommend Rice for both new and used vehicles. An all around grand transaction, and I am very pleased with the purchase of my new 2010 Scion XD. A really excellent vehicle, and I am averaging just over 40MPG. Not to mention the HD radio is simply amaz with the purchase of my new 2010 Scion XD. A really excellent vehicle, and I am averaging just over 40MPG. Not to mention the HD radio is simply amazing... Just what one has come to expect from the Toyota/Scion name brand, another excellent product. The sales experience was excellent, fast, and they even had to locate the exact vehicle I wanted... Which, by the way, they acquired within a few days. Their Internet Sales Team is most excellent!!! Rice Toyota/Scion even gave me free car washes, as well as my first oil and filter change, for free. Not to mention the excellent Rice Advantage Program they gave me with the purchase of my new vehicle. Rice Toyota/Scion even handled my vehicle trade-in with fairness, care and professionalism, and I am most happy with my price, and experience. Many Thanks! More
When I first got to Rice on that Saturday, all I wanted was to "look" at a stick shift car because that is what I wanted in the first place when I had bought the Echo 4 years ago and was told that "they" d was to "look" at a stick shift car because that is what I wanted in the first place when I had bought the Echo 4 years ago and was told that "they" didn't make stick shifts anymore. Robert Sullivan approached me. He had a very friendly smile and mannerism which sold me immediately. I told him what I was looking for and he knew immediately what to do. He showed me a red corolla stickshift. When I saw it, I knew that it was to be mine. See I love Corollas. I had a Toyota Corolla 1991 and it just about died on me. I wanted another one. Everything about the car made me feel good. Like I wanted to sit in the car the rest of my life. Now every time I get in that car, which is every day, it makes me feel so good, like I don't want to get out of the car. The car is extremely easy to understand, rides beautifully and very smoothly, easy to shift and the manuverability is awesome and she looks great too. Now my husband is jealous. Never before have a read the owners manual. I have on this car. He even high lighted the areas and numbers of the pages for me to make it simple for me. He made my experience of buying the car extremely easy. He made me feel like I was special and that he only wanted to please me that day and he did. He couldn't have made me feel more comfortable through out the whole buying process. I have recommended him and this dealership many times since I bought that car. He renewed my faith in not only Rice but also in the fact that Rice employees really do want to make you feel special. Thank you Rice and thank you Robert Sullivan. Mariann Swoyer More

I APPRECIATE THE PROFESSIONAL SALES STAFF. CHRIS WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, PROFESSIONAL AND HELPFUL. AND THE MAIN THING WAS THAT THE PRICE WAS RIGHT. I GOT WHAT I WANTED FOR THE PRICE I THOUGHT WAS REASONABLE KNOWLEDGEABLE, PROFESSIONAL AND HELPFUL. AND THE MAIN THING WAS THAT THE PRICE WAS RIGHT. Lindsay identified the truck I wanted in a prompt fashion over the internet and Frank delivered the truck 5 days later. My husband and I visited Rice 3 times while car shopping over the years and found the sales people stiff and unfriendly. Recently a coworker recommended Mark Ellis at Rice Toyota. What a difference! The first car I purchased at Rice Toyota was June 2007. I opted to use the Internet Sales team and I worked with Lindsay Graham. Lindsay was awesome to work with, as we could discuss/negotiate when it was I opted to use the Internet Sales team and I worked with Lindsay Graham. Lindsay was awesome to work with, as we could discuss/negotiate when it was convenient to me. She was very responsive and treated me like I was her only customer. After my June 2007 purchase, Lindsay kept in touch by sending cards on the holidays and my birthday. I was still receiving the cards in the mail in 2009 when I decided to start looking for a 2010 Prius. This time, the challenge was much greater, as I wanted the hard to find Prius IV with the Solar Roof Package. I had the opportunity to see the new body style at a local dealer, but hadn't seen the inside of one with the sun roof. As soon as one was delivered, she let me know so I could at least view the inside, as this car was pre-sold before it arrived. I drove to the dealership and met Frank who gave me the keys so I could inspect the inside. The next hurdle for me was to sell my 2007 Prius as I owed more than the trade in value. The day this happened, I contacted Lindsay, and to both our surprises, the exact Prius (color, package, options) I wanted was due to arrive at Rice Toyota within 2 weeks. By the time I made a decision to purchase this car, someone else had it on hold for someone. Lindsay worked things out so I could be the backup offer, if the current deal didn't go through. Amazingly, it didn't, and by the next afternoon, I was informed that the car was mine. The rest of the purchase went smooth. Frank explained the new features, affixed my tag, brought the car over. The dealership was swamped with "Cash for Clunkers" deals and there was a slight delay in signing the paperwork, but I spent the time getting to know my car. At 8:30pm (30 minutes after closing), my turn to go to finance arrived. Despite working late, Susan was very cheerful and another pleasure to work with. By 9pm, I was saying my good-byes to Susan, Frank, and on of the sales managers, Neil. A few days after, Lindsay once again called me to check how the new car was going. Thanks to all that I worked with on my 2010 Prius. A very special thanks to my Internet Sales Gal, Lindsay. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I put price as N/A in the survey as no deals offered on the Prius IV with Solar Roof Package as they were in such demand. I gave a 3 for customer service and a 3 for overall experience because of my experience with Susan Scoggins, whom I would rate a 2 for customer service, not Robert Byman. Robert, the salesman, did a great job and was very friendly and easy to negotiate with and display good customer service, I would his customer service as a 4. So, my overall customer service is an average of the two. I have no problems with Robert. That is why a gave a 4 for friendliness. Below I have explained the issues I encountered with Susan. I feel she displayed a poor level of customer service. Robert helped me get the price I asked for and tried to help me with my loan process. This is when Susan stepped in. She and my bank went back and forth about what documentation she needed from my bank for proof that the Rice would get their money. My bank faxed over the papers for me to sign and in those papers was a letter of intent that Rice Toyota would get an overnighted check from my bank. This wasn't good enough for Susan because they didn't give a date, so she asked me to sign the dealerships loan papers in case my bank didn't come through with the money. I was reluctant to sign these papers for fear of them mistakenly being filed and me owing money that I really shouldn't owe. During this whole process Susan was not very friendly and I feel like she was not really listening to what I was trying to say. Her only concern was getting the money (which is understandable, but should not be shown that aggressively in front of the customer). As a compromise, I agreed to sign the loan papers if she would send me a copy of the voided loan papers once they received the check from my bank, that way I have it for my records. It has been a month since I purchased the car and I have yet to receive the information I requested. I have called twice and left voice mails for Susan asking if she would please send me a copy of the voided loan papers or a letter signed by her saying that those papers have been voided. She has not returned either of my phone calls and has still not sent the information I requested. I feel as though good customer service should still be shown even after the vehicle has been purchased; and my request to get a copy of the voided loan papers I signed for the dealership is not unreasonable. I hope that action will be taken to correct this kind of service so that future customers do not have such a frustrating experience at Rice Toyota. More
