We have always been pleased with our experience at Rice...from the purchase of a new vehicle to the ongoing service. I wonder about the prices but then I have not recently checked what quality competitors are charging. Everything else is basically fine. Waiting time to be checked in is never long. Sales, yes. Service, NO! I was promised 2-2 and 1/2 hours and spent 4. Service advisors were not the least bit concerned that the time schedule promised was not being adhered to. This is the best car buying experience I have ever had. I am 52 years old and have always bought Chevrolet vehicles. Toyota has always had the best car reputation and the media attack is very unfair. I have always wanted an F J Cruiser and I felt that now was the best time. I am proud to own a Toyota. Rice Toyota lived up to their commercials and everyone was great to work with. Tom Sawyer was a terrific salesman and was very knowledgeable and helpful. The general manager, Elmon Dale greeted me at the door and patted me on the back and made me feel welcome. The car acts worse now than prior to the "repairs" for the recalls. It surges worse when trying to accelerate from a stop or when passing, it still hesitates unexpecantly and sometimes dangerously, whe the recalls. It surges worse when trying to accelerate from a stop or when passing, it still hesitates unexpecantly and sometimes dangerously, when I've inquired at the dealership I get song and dances about carpets and accelrator pedals. It's the ECU even if you will not admit it, Goggle it on the internet there are over 100 websites that talk about this problem. I will never buy another Rice Toyota, I will make sure people I know are informed about the "great" service I've recieved and you can be assured I will never bring this car to Rices for service ever again. More
When I scheduled the service and when I asked the service representative upon arrival, I was told this would take 2-2 and 1/2 hours. 4 hours later, I was able to get out after much prodding. This happened 2 times, so I know it's not an abberation. Service Representative didn't seem to care that he didn't meet his promised timeline. Unacceptable. Poor service, poor attitude. To add insult to injury, I think Toyota is lying about the problem. Why would you need to hook the car up to a computer to repair a "floor mat" problem? More
The reason I gave Rice this rating is because of the overall experience and friendliness. Robert and David are true professionals and understand service. The price of service is so expensive compared to private shops, that is my only complaint. In this case, my price was double what another shop estimated. The people at Rice are very kind and helpful. The personnel in the service department were all friendly and helpful, explaining everything that was being done. The atmosphere in the waiting room was very customer friendly with comfortable seating and am and helpful, explaining everything that was being done. My Camry was recalled for floormats. I was told it would take 2 hours but it only took 1 hour. My car was taken as soon as I arrived. Everyone was courteous and very well mannered.
