Simple brake repair took twice as long and cost double what the mechanic said. Staff was very rude. It was the worst experience I have had with a mechanic. Do use this shop. what the mechanic said. Staff was very rude. It was the worst experience I have had with a mechanic. Do use this shop. More

Our salesman John Marshall was efficient, and found us exactly what we wanted. We had a time crush and he made the whole process painless and fun. We love our car and had it all taken care of quickly and exactly what we wanted. We had a time crush and he made the whole process painless and fun. This dealership is great!! I had been dealing with another local dealer who I feel insulted my intelligence because I am a woman. Just tell me the truth. So I called Rice Toyota who is only 30 minutes another local dealer who I feel insulted my intelligence because I am a woman. Just tell me the truth. So I called Rice Toyota who is only 30 minutes down the road and was given a much better deal over the phone and the car was ready for me the next day without even meeting me. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with everyone at this dealership. I would HIGHLY recommend this dealer. More
The worst dealer experience ever. The salesperson was rude and wouldn't think for you. He showed no interest selling a car to me. Fortunately this dealer is not the only Toyota dealer around the area. An rude and wouldn't think for you. He showed no interest selling a car to me. While I was driving it near the Rice dealership, the gear shift lever on my 2003 Tundra broke, and I pulled into into their service bay. I surrendered my truck to the Rice service rep., with the automatic t shift lever on my 2003 Tundra broke, and I pulled into into their service bay. I surrendered my truck to the Rice service rep., with the automatic transmission in Drive; engine running. Upon receiving the repair cost estimate of nearly $900, I asked that the truck be returned to me in the condition which I surrendered it (engine running; in Drive). Initially, the service rep. agreed to do as I asked after I paid a diagnostic fee. I paid the fee. He disappeared, later returned and refused to return the vehicle, claiming liability issues. I offered to sign a statement absolving Rice of any liability. Again he refused, saying that the only way I could remove my un-repaired truck from their lot was to have it towed. Clearly the service rep. tried to do the right thing but was overruled. I complained to Mary Rice, who ignored me. So I called a tow truck. When it arrived, a mechanic showed the tow truck driver how the gears could still be shifted, even with the gearshift leaver broken. At my request, the tow truck operator removed my truck from the Rice lot then showed me what the mechanic showed him. He showed me that when the driver operates the (now broken) large gearshift lever, it moves a smaller lever on the steering column which in turn operates a cable, which changes the transmission gears. With the an exception of the large lever, all of the parts required to change gears were intact and operating properly. And the driver could easily and safely change to and from all transmission gear positions by moving the small lever with his fingers. All other controls on the steering column (lights, turn signals, wipers) were working properly, as were the brake pedal safety features. The absence of the large lever did not make changing gears less safe; only less convenient. Slightly! I drove the truck to another mechanic who fixed the problem for over $300 less than Rice quoted More
We bought a Toyota Van from Rice Toyota about a year ago. Recently the Check Engine lights came on three different times. Each time we took the car into where they said to take it in. Each time we paid for the car to be fixed and did exactly what they said. We missed kids events, a birthday party, and a crucial medical appointment in Atlanta. This past time we took it in, they had the car for four (4) days and admitted at the end that they don’t know why the check engine light comes on and is flashing. Their suggestion is to drive the car around and wait for it to come on then bring it in. Either, they are incompetent or they sold us a bad product. We were stuck with a rental car bill for the time they had our car in and can’t tell us what’s wrong with it (4 days). We are now going to have to RENT a car anytime we leave the triad area because our car still isn’t fixed. After dealing with them I just keep getting the run around on how to fix it. They keep offering to fix parts in the car that “might” be wrong in an attempt to fix it. Every night I see commercials that “We treat you right- at Rice Toyota” what a lie. Beware of this dealership. More
What a great experience my wife & I had buying a preowned Scion XB from David Senkus at Rice Toyota/Scion of Greensboro. Friendliness understates the folks. And what a value. It was a little over preowned Scion XB from David Senkus at Rice Toyota/Scion of Greensboro. Friendliness understates the folks. And what a value. It was a little over a 2 hour round trip from home to first purchase test drive and purchase the Scion, then return to pay for and take delivery a few days later. Well worth our time. They come highly recommended by both my wife and me. More
We had a great experience at Rice Toyota. They gave us a better deal than another dealership we were working with. Jerry was quick to respond to our needs and made the deal painless. I am extremely pleased with the service at Rice. The car was ready on time and all work that was requested was completed to my satisfaction. In addition, an old recall item was included and fixed. I had al was ready on time and all work that was requested was completed to my satisfaction. In addition, an old recall item was included and fixed. I had also requested 2 items to be checked and serviced if necessary. I was contacted in less than 2 hours on the evening I dropped off the car by Mr. Cobb. He informed me that the 2 items we discussed did not need attention at this time, but another item was discovered. He described the issue and potential cost to repair. I told him to ?fix it". Overall, the final bill was well under quote because of the 2 items not needed and even with the added issue. Further, the car was clean as a pin when I picked it up. And as long as we're on the subject of service... In May 2010 a hit and run damaged the back left rear of my Corolla. In 2008, major hail damage. Rice auto-body performed the work both times. High quality work on both occasions. Special mention to Carol Ward and staff at Rice auto-body. When schedules went awry last year on my repair (no fault of Rice) they bent over backward to make it work so I was inconvenienced as little as possible. Superlative service. More
