I spoke to him night before last and he confirmed that they had the vehicle I wanted to purchase but it was too late for me to get there since I live an hour away. He said that he would verify that it was still available the next morning. He called me at 9:30 a.m. the next morning saying that he just arrived at work and would go get eyes on the vehicle and let me know what the interior color was and I received this info via text at 10:30 a.m. I spoke with him on the phone at 11:00 a.m. telling him that I had found someone to drive with me and I was on the way to purchase the vehicle and would be there within 1 hour. Literally 10 minutes before I pulled into the dealership he text saying that the vehicle had sold! I replied that I was there and would like to talk with him. I stood around for 15 minutes after the front desk paged him. He finally approached me with one of his associates, swiftly handed me off to the other sales guy without talking to me at all. I'm convinced the vehicle was never on the lot because they couldn't even show it to me! This is absolutely crazy that he would bait me to drive from an hour away just to hand me to another salesman who then tries to switch me into another vehicle on the lot. Completely wasted my time and gas for nothing! I would never do business with this place and will warn everyone to avoid this dealership. Justin Thompson should be fired for these low life sales tactics. More
Service department is very good. The buying experience was okay, but as with any dealership you never really feel like you got a great deal. Great service experience, timely, efficient and everything handled as asked. Loaner car allowed me to continue on with my day without having to kill 3 -4 hours at the dealership. everything handled as asked. After 4 new vehicles, numerous customer referrals, and countless service visits (some quite expensive), I am DONE with this dealership. I would not recommend this place to anyone at this point. This revie countless service visits (some quite expensive), I am DONE with this dealership. I would not recommend this place to anyone at this point. This review is primarily focused on issues in the service/maintenance department, I always had a fairly good experience on the sales side, however, all the good long-term salesmen I used to know are long gone at this point. Almost every single time I come in for service, whether regular service intervals or to address a minor issue, there is always some kind of issue why they can’t do this or that. Always excuses. To top it off, every service advisor I’ve had for the past couple of years is either uninformed/untrained, abrasive or both. There is a near-total unwillingness to help, and it’s very obvious, which just makes the whole situation worse. Maybe it’s just my service advisor, but doubtful. Today pushed me over the edge. I called to schedule service for a regular oil change + tire rotation and then informed them about some popping coming from underneath the cab on my Tundra. I was told to bring it in first thing in the morning and they could look at everything. I am going on a road trip leaving this evening and wanted to get the regular service done and have the other issue looked at. Seemed pretty minor and something I’m certain is not uncommon on these trucks (my third Tundra). Immediately upon speaking with my service advisor I’m told that no diagnostics can be done without leaving the truck for 1-2 days. I was not informed about this when scheduling, otherwise, I would not have taken a day off to do any of this service and would have done everything after my trip when I could schedule accordingly. After explaining that I couldn’t leave my truck for 1-2 days, I was offered a loaner, except after asking for clarification, I was informed it was only a loaner for 24 hours, and then it would turn into a paid rental! I explained that I was just told it could be 1-2 days (or more), so why would you call it a loaner if I was expected to pay for the car. Are these people serious? Everything was met with a condescending blank stare and shrug. I also mentioned that this popping issue seemed to be a pretty well-known issue online, only to be met with, “you can’t trust anything online sir, I’ve never heard of this issue before”. Right, as if thousands of Tundra owners never had a similar issue or brought in a truck for this before. The general attitude of the people is the worst thing here, which is sad because it’s the easiest thing to get right. I’ve let a lot of issues slide over the years, but I just can’t take the treatment at this place anymore and I refuse to give them another penny. If this is how they treat a very loyal customer, it says a lot about the leadership/executive team and the expectations they set for their front-line staff. Just go to Cavender, which is where I’ll be going from now on, or xxxx, even Red McCombs would be better than this. I haven’t written a negative review for a company/brand in a LONG time, kudos to Toyota of Boerne for motivating me to do so. P.S. Don’t get me started about the total lemon of a 4Runner they sold to my parents and absolutely failed to take responsibility for. More excuses. This vehicle has spent more than half a year (6+ months) in the shop at this place over the past few years. Nearly 20 service appointments (if not more) to address significant issues with the vehicle, not related to general maintenance. Do not shop/service here. Plain and simple. I feel sorry for the few good employees who work here, as I’m sure there are at least a couple. They must be totally kneecapped in their ability to provide real service to customers. More
