I came in with my spare tire on the vehicle due to a foreign body piercing the side wall. I missed the end of my road hazard warranty literally by 2 days as the tire issue occurred out of town and they foreign body piercing the side wall. They asked me where the tire replacement tools were located, which surprised me because it's a Toyota truck. Also, the truck had the spare on for several days before I took it in for replacement, so the TPS system was showing a malfunction from the spare. I was told that is was malfunctioning and would need to be diagnosed and possibly replaced which would cost several hundred dollars. I questioned if that might just be a remnant of the spare having been on and would reset once the vehicle was driven farther and was told it was not, there was a bad sensor. The service rep walked away to get my receipt and I told my spouse, "I don't buy it", meaning I did not believe I had a faulty sensor. We got in the truck and the sensor was flashing an error. We had scarcely left the dealership lot when the system recognized all four tires were present and inflated and the light went out and has remained off...it just had to be driven far enough to reset the system. I don't want to believe I was lied to, but I would have expected them to understand their products a bit better. More
