We have always purchased our cars from Torrington Toyota, but have been increasingly frustrated in recent years by the service department. The service reps are smooth talkers, seemingly friendly, but when asked anything beyond the usual routine, they have no interest in going above and beyond to help customers. I would love to have all my work done there, but every experience has been negative in some way. I keep trying, but alas, we've only been taking it there for the free oil changes my car is "allowed" (one time not given when within 200 miles of the "allowed" date before a long road trip). They are often trying to upsell services, but have limited information on anything else, and are not interested in finding it out. On this recent visit, I had a separate (Bluetooth) issue I asked the rep about when I was dropping it off for an oil change. He told me he had no idea and that there was nothing Toyota could do about that, and that I should look for a YouTube video to help me. When he later handed me my keys and told me I was all set, I asked him if there was anyone else around that might be able to help me with the issue. He said, "No." When I asked further, explaining that I already went through all the Google/YouTube steps, he said, "We do have one guy who is pretty good with stuff like that, but he's away on vacation right now." I asked for his name, thinking I would come back at a later time when he might be around to help me. He said, "His name is T", to which I said, "Oh, T! I know T; he sold us our cars! I saw T inside earlier!" My rep (who may have been named Mike, based on this survey, but I can't be certain) barely acknowledged that T was there and sent me on my way. I proceeded to walk into the sales showroom to patiently wait for T. He came outside to help me and we had the problem solved within minutes. Thank you, T, as always!
