I have worked in retail management for most of my professional career. I have a reasonable assessment of what it takes to not only meeting the needs of a customers shopping experience, but more impor professional career. I have a reasonable assessment of what it takes to not only meeting the needs of a customers shopping experience, but more importantly, how exceeding a customers expectations will usually leave a long term positive impression. With such a large buying decision, I usually do a lot of research on my own ahead of time to narrow down my vehicle make and model of choice, engine upgrades, creature comforts, accessories, and warranty and service options. By the time I even enter the parking lot of a car dealership, I’m 85% set on the one what that I want to buy. With that being said, my car dealership shopping experiences in the past have always been somewhat uncomfortable. Very aggressive, pushing me and my family into looking at something that I am not really interested in, and the countless sales pitches on limited inventory and special prices. I get it. I’ve worked in retail so I understand that commissions, bonuses, and achieving monthly sales goals are always top of mind for sales representatives. But that all changed when I met Tommy Chung-Ming at Tony Nissan. His approach . . . was natural, his engagements . . . personal, and he LISTENED to what my wants and needs were . . . versus trying to assume what “would be best for me and my ohana”. He is honest upfront, no cheesy sales pitches, broken promises, or false prophets. He is genuine and like able because of who is he and not because of what he does. His personality and aura is always positive and his energy is contagious. I have seen his interactions with other coworkers, mechanics, and service personnel and he always seems to have the unique ability to make people smile. I just recently purchased my fourth vehicle from him (yes FOUTH!!!). The latest one was seemingly a far fetch of a request on my part but after a couple of weeks ( . . . or months if it was that long . . . ) he was able to make my initial inquiry an actual reality. All of my exact specifications, all of the options that I had wanted, and even the ability to get an extended warranty incorporated were all boxes that were able to be checked off. He knew what my maximum budget was and worked with what I was willing to spend, letting me know what would be possible and what would not be possible up front before even getting started. He combed through my paperwork and even though I was given a great finance rate . . . He encouraged me to take a couple of days to shop around at my personal bank and credit union to see if I could get a better / lower interest rate. Amazing from start to finish. No smoke and mirrors, no nonsense, no xx. That’s how it should be and that is how my experience with Tommy has always been. Although I jokingly call him “my sales guy” I actually consider him to be a valued friend and even an extended part of my family. I rarely do customer service and business reviews, but I think it is only fair that I share my personal and professional shopping experiences with Tommy (and the Tony Automotive Group) and I encourage all of my friends and business partners to seek his service whenever they are looking to purchase a new or used vehicle. I brought my car in as I had a small accident and popped my tire and wasn’t sure what more damage it caused.
