Emailed the main Nissan dealerships on Oahu for a price quote on the LEAF. Kurt responded promptly, answered all my questions and offered the best price. The recent (8/10/13) major service was disappointing on 3 points: 1. my car was not starting for several days with intermittent problems over the previous 2 weeks. I reported the issue and that it was proba points: 1. my car was not starting for several days with intermittent problems over the previous 2 weeks. I reported the issue and that it was probably related to a switch tied to the reverse light as I had changed the battery and the starter didn't seem to be the problem. Even though I asked the switch be checked---no diagnostic was done as the car had started without incident for the technician. When I came to pick up the car at the end of the day, it did not start AND I was informed that it was too late to complete diagnostic testing that day. I had to leave the car an additional day. 2. On previous visits(5/10/13 and previous), technicians recommended that I replace one of the engine belts. It was hand written in on my multipoint inspection report (yellow paper) and apparently not entered into the system, as the service representative could not find a note/recommendation from the technician. There were other previous notes to flush systems, change brakes, etc...no record of those being entered into the system. It makes me wonder if any of those recommendations were necessary service since none were ever done or even recommended on any subsequent visit. 3. cost--significantly higher for the major service than my private mechanic would charge. Excellent service was received from Landaon Van Hoogstraten. When I arrived on Oct. 26, 2013 at 8:30 am appt. I was greeted, checked in and informed my service will take about 1 hour. I waited fo Hoogstraten. When I arrived on Oct. 26, 2013 at 8:30 am appt. I was greeted, checked in and informed my service will take about 1 hour. I waited for 3 hours; Landaon researched with the service dept. and discovered my car was parked in the wrong location and was not yet worked on (I was not very happy, cause I had other appts. elsewhere). I was then informed my car will be immediately serviced and done within 30 minutes. Because of the inconvenience, I received a partial adjustment, which I agreed upon due the long waiting period. Landaon was very professional and apologetic. To avoid any future reoccurences like this and to spare the embarrassment of your front-line (service writers), the service dept may need to re-evaluate their system. Personally, Landaon delivered and I thank him for such excellent personal service. More
