I paid 100$ for reservation on a 2022 Hyundai Tucson PHEV Limited last month. Today I got the email from dealership that the vehicle is here. I asked to send the numbers, and they sent me proposal with price Limited last month. Today I got the email from dealership that the vehicle is here. I asked to send the numbers, and they sent me proposal with price $46k+ with no breakdown of MSRP and market adjustment. The VIN listed on the proposal was actually SEL trim. When I asked if that was mistake, they said that the VIN is correct, and the SEL trim with ~37k MSRP has 9k in market adjustment. Sooner or later this chip shortage is going to end. Then, everyone is going to prefer honest dealerships over the ones which tried to price gouge. And if they want to price gouge, at least be upfront about the MSRP and price gouging (i.e. market adjustment). I'd avoid giving my sales or service business to them! More
