Excruciatingly dishonesty in Tom Wood protection plans. Have never posted negatively about a retailer of any sort before. But in my opinion (which is all I can offer here), something quite negative has happened to Tom Wood agency practices in recent years. They revolve around continuing dishonesty in the quite expensive protection plans they sell and quite poorly abide by, something I've experienced at their Subaru and Lexus dealerships. I'll put aside what seems like massively overhyped selling of these plans for protection that won't help the customer but make quite a profit for the agencies willing to push them. I do so to comment on the what happens afterward: (1) the failure to fix problems and (2) the failure to follow through on their 4--YES, 4--promises that they indeed owed (and would be sending) a refund of our protection plan fee when we traded in car that didn't fit our needs. As to (1), it's pretty simple. We bought a "certified" Lexus (which they explained meant everything would. work or they'd fix it). From the beginning, the navigation system has had a basic issue showing correct travel times, and they simply refuse to make the repair. As to (2), when a Tom Wood Subaru we had no longer fit our needs, we shopped for a used vehicle from Tom Wood Lexus. We were told that because the Subaru was so new and had such low miles (within the basic coverage coming with all new cars), we'd get back the money for its protection plan if we bought a replacement car. Done. And fine, except that two years later we've been danced around FOUR TIMES to submit and resubmit the same already-submitted details (details, BTW, that both Tom Wood agencies had, like dates of purchase, and mileage on the trade-in). Each time we're told the information is complete and the refund would be on its way. And FOUR TIMES and TWO YEARS LATER, nothing. They win. We give up. Our time and peace of mind aren't entirely worthless. All their energy seems committed to selling these highly questionable plans and then wearing out the customer. I can't recommend strongly enough that you stay away. Would never buy from a Tom Wood agency again. More

Excellent Service I was in a car accident at the start of the year, so safety was my number one priority when choosing a new car. My family and I did a lot of research, selecting several cars from different makers falling under the Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS. We didn’t know much about Subaru prior to visiting the dealership aside from their fun, family-friendly commercials. Greg was the gentleman who assisted us during our car buying experience. He wasn’t a high-pressure salesman, which I appreciated. He was easy to talk to and, since I had no previous experience buying a car, explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. Tom Wood Subaru was the first dealership of many that I visited and they set the bar high when I left to test more cars. My family and I came back three times to test drive the car. It handles great and for someone used to driving small cars, it gives plenty of ground clearance without feeling too big. I love my Crosstrek; it had 6 miles on it when I purchased the car and drove 40 in the first day! More

The car I purchased has a specific issue, and I seem to be the only one being inconvenienced. In the past I have dealt with other dealerships that have been very accommodating. I believe there is more that could be done to make me a satisfied customer, such as assuring me that I would have a loaner when leaving the car for a second time for the same issue. Furthermore, I have visited the dealership more than 2 times to attempt to solve the matter. More
