Looked for a new 2008 Odyssey at several local dealers and was terribly disappointed with prices and salespersons' attitudes. Went 50 miles out of my way to Honda of Joliet after receiving a great bid on and was terribly disappointed with prices and salespersons' attitudes. Went 50 miles out of my way to Honda of Joliet after receiving a great bid on-line from sales consultant Jim London. My expectations were minimal as I arrived at the dealership but everyone from the receptionist to porters welcomed me with smiles. Jim was called and greeted me warmly. On the way to his office, he eased my reservations. There was absolutely no high pressure, NONE! He described the Odyssey Touring models that were available and we took a quick look at them. The price Jim quoted me on the internet was the price he stood by. NO pressure to spend more or upgrade. He spent over an hour with me to determine the best financing plan to save me money. We weighed the .9% Honda financing vs. the $1000 base lower price using my credit union's 4.5% financing. I told him I needed to think about the options and discuss this with my wife. Jim not only did not pressure me to sign a contract but emailed me that evening with other options we had not covered that afternoon. I called him just before closing that evening and told him my wife and I had decided to purchase the Odyssey from Honda of Joliet. He said he would stay beyond closing to make sure everything was ready for us the next day. When we arrived, the paperwork and the new car were ready. We reviewed the paperwork with Larry Holcombe, Business Manager, who was professional and very friendly. I declined the extended warranty and instead of pressure, Larry smiled and informed me he just needed to be sure I knew the option was available. When the paperwork was completed Jim gave us a complete tour of the Odyssey and spent well over an hour answering our questions. I could not of had a better car buying experience. My hats off to Honda of Joliet. Barvo! More
First of all, I have to say that our sales consultant, Oren Ferguson was GREAT. I have nothing bad to say about him. He was SO pleasant to work with and in all honesty, when I purchase any other vehicles Oren Ferguson was GREAT. I have nothing bad to say about him. He was SO pleasant to work with and in all honesty, when I purchase any other vehicles in the future I will be speaking to Oren first. He is very professional and knows his product. He is not pushy in any way. We were absolutely THRILLED that we met with him. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone to go work with Oren if they are interested in purchasing a Honda. We purchased a Honda CR-V. We began meeting with Oren a month prior to purchasing. We told him we were not ready to purchase at that time, we just wanted to do our research to decide on what we wanted to get. He was completely understanding of this. When it came time for us to purchase, we contacted Oren to see if the model we wanted was in stock. We were torn between two colors and he made sure that both of those colors in the model we wanted were there on the date we said we would be there. We also wanted to make sure that the car would be large enough to hold things like our children's wagon, so Oren arranged for us to borrow a demo car for a few hours so we could take it home to check it out. Everything was great, so we decided to buy. The experience was wonderful until we met with business/sales manager Vince D'Angelo. Vince was so unprofessional that we almost walked away from the deal. When he pulled us into his office to finalize the sale, we noticed the monthly payment was more then we thought it would be and more then we wanted to pay. In all my past car purchases, I would sit in the finance office for the longest period of time going over all the options we had for the payment of the vehicle. Not with Vince though - his only option was for us to put down another $2,000.00. He had everything ready for us to sign and was angry that we didn't like the numbers we saw. Instead of him trying to figure out something that would work for us, he took all the papers he had on this car purchase, threw them into a file and said, "Well, that's what the price is. Now you know for the future. We're done." He basically threw us out of his office and called Oren to talk to him. Oren met us outside of Vince's office ready to show us our new car and we told him we would not be purchasing. We did end up purchasing the car because Oren set us up with Andrew who was able to get us to the monthly payment we wanted. Finishing the deal with Andrew was pleasant, and so far we are VERY happy with our car. I would highly recommend working with Oren, but if the business/sales manager that you have to work with is VINCE D'ANGELO - leave. Don't walk - run. Come back on Vince's day off and work with someone else. This would have been a very pleasant experience from beginning to end if we hadn't had any dealings with Vince. More

When I entered the dealership to look into buying a certified used Honda I was pleasantly approached by Ted. I previously had looked at cars at Thomas Toyota in Joliet and felt like a piece of meat when the salesman swooped down on me and tried to upsell me on a higher priced car. Honda of Joliet had a pleasant atmosphere and I did not feel pressured in any way. Ted was very informative and helpful in assisting me in making my decision. The purchase process went very smoothly. I don't remember the name of the gentleman who assisted me with the paperwork but he was new to the position at the time and was quite good at what he did and was also pleasant to deal with. When I got my car home I did notice there was a hole drilled into the inside of the door jam which I was concerned about due to the possibility of rusting. Ted assisted me in getting into the dealership to cap the hole and was very helpful. With past experiences with other dealerships once I drove off the car lot with my new car I didn't get the same level of treatment as when I had purchased the car. That wasn't so with Ted. He was courteous and vigilant in getting me taken care of. It is so refreshing to have found such a great dealership that provides such a great product. I know I will not go anywhere else for my auto purchasing needs. Rick Koralles/General Manager should be commended in the way he runs his business. More
I found the car I wanted on the web at Honda of Joliet and called from ~100 miles away. Ted Turrisi gave me complete and accurate information. We went and bought the car without a hitch at the dealer. You and called from ~100 miles away. Ted Turrisi gave me complete and accurate information. You still have to steel yourself to deal with the business manager; she was pretty icy when I had financing from my credit bureau but they were fair and kept all promises about the transaction. More
I will not recommend this dealership. Absolutely not. Horrible customer relation. They will rush you at the end with the sales figure. Very unprofessional. Horrible customer relation. They will rush you at the end with the sales figure. Very unprofessional. More
It was time for a new car and I was not looking forward to dealing with car dealers, pricing, etc. I stopped by Honda of Joliet and worked with Brent. Brent was great to work with and the pricing was, in to dealing with car dealers, pricing, etc. I stopped by Honda of Joliet and worked with Brent. Brent was great to work with and the pricing was, in my opinion, very fair. Within a day or two, Brent was able to work with me and get me to my price range and I left with a new 2008 Civic. I was very happy with the process and the purchase. I have not used the service department (yet) but I'm sure the service will be just as good as the sales. I would definetly recommend Honda of Joliet to family and friends. More
Back in 2001 I bought a new Honda Odyssey. At that time they were in such demand that sticker price was the best that I could do. I wanted the van so I bought it at sticker. It arrived when promised, and they were in such demand that sticker price was the best that I could do. I wanted the van so I bought it at sticker. It arrived when promised, and was exactly what I ordered. Everyone at the dealership was friendly, and our salesman did a great job. I realize that this is 5 years ago, but I still feel that they deserve another good review. More
This dealer used a finance bait and switch tactic. When I negotiated a deal for a 2007 Honda Element the dealer said they needed to run a background credit check on me. I explained I had already done that a negotiated a deal for a 2007 Honda Element the dealer said they needed to run a background credit check on me. I explained I had already done that and had arrangements with a bank, no need, they even said it was Illinois State Law which is completely FALSE! All they wanted is for me to use Honda Finance which I simply refused. I had a blank check from Capital One and a fax from the bank stating it was guranteed. Their finance person said we don't accept so called site drafts from banks. I was floored! I am going to report them to the Illinois States Attorney's office for this tactic. More
We decided on a Honda early on and did some research as to which dealership to go to. We found several dealerships around our house and through this website found out that they were death traps and had som to which dealership to go to. We found several dealerships around our house and through this website found out that they were death traps and had some unresolved customer issues (Better Bussiness Bureau website). The only dealership that came across as a respectable place of bussiness was Honda of Joliet. We drove an hour each way to order the car, then to see it when it came in, and then to buy it. That alone should say something about this dealership. And I will go back there to get my car serviced. A place that makes you feel this confident about buying a car cannot do anything other than to make you feel confident that your car will be serviced properly as well. This place was respectfull and LARRY (our salesman) treated us with the upmost respect and profesionalism. We went in there and were not forced to buy anything we didn't want. We said no to things and were not asked repeatedly or told that we needed things we did not. No was fine and we came in and left with exactly what we wanted, a new Honda LX. LARRY is THE MAN. Not to say that other people working there are not as good, but LARRY is who you should go to. We went in there and decided that we would order a Honda LX. The car arrived when it was promised, brand spanking new with only 2 miles on it. The price was as promised (low). When we ordered my car everything was explained and we knew exactly what we were paying for. Larry was extremeley professional and patient since we had our own loan from our bank coming through and had to wait an additional week on the bank to post the check. Once we bought the car and filled out all the paperwork and we got into it he explained some major features of the car and some of the cool features. We got our plates on the spot too. It wasn't as though we signed the papers and somone pulled the car from out back and told us bye. Larry was very profesional. I recomend Larry and Honda of Joliet to anyone looking for a car. Their prices are great and I feel very confident that I made the righ choice by buying my car from there. More
The sales manager, Jason, went out of his way to show us pricing for the used car we wanted to purchase. We had a slight pricing misunderstanding but when we walked out of the managers office, we were sati pricing for the used car we wanted to purchase. We had a slight pricing misunderstanding but when we walked out of the managers office, we were satisfied. We were never at any point pushed into the sale. The entire experience was comfortable and painless. After going to Ed Napleton Honda in Oak Lawn and being completely disgusted, Honda of Joliet proved to us how purchasing a car could be an enjoyable experience. Thank you so much for being upfront and honest. That is how you get people to keep coming back and refer others. Keep it up! More
