I dealt with Mike De Benedetti quite a bit regarding the purchase of my 2008 Honda Accord EX-L. I would and WILL recommend him and Honda of Joliet to anyone. He was very knowledgeable of the car, extremely patient and answered all of my obsessive questions, and most importantly he got me exactly what I wanted, for the price I wanted ! I am so so so pleased with my car and the professionalism of Mike and the Honda of Joliet team. I would not hesitate to buy from them again ! First off, I noticed that Honda of Joliet had a VERY high rating in comparison to all the other Chicagoland dealers. Then, I realized that not a single review was about their service department! We purcha rating in comparison to all the other Chicagoland dealers. Then, I realized that not a single review was about their service department! We purchased an '07 Fit and then an '04 Pilot from them and are pretty happy with both vehicles and we are also thoroughly satisfied with the whole experience much like everybody else. Their whole staff is very friendly and helpful and understanding when problems occur. BUT, my biggest problem is that many times it takes a couple of trips to get things right with maintenance. Just today, my wife had the Fit in for an oil change and tire rotation. She called ahead of time and they said they'd get her right in. An hour and ten minutes later they told her it was done and to pay and the car was in the service bay. After paying, the car was MIA for 10 minutes. 3 people could not locate out Fit. Then, finally my wife saw our car with two people in it making a turnaround in the adjacent hotel parking lot! (why?) Was somebody taking it for a test drive? Who knows. They exited the car and left before she could approach them. An hour and 20 minutes total. My Pilot had a flashing light come up when I turned on the ignition and then it went away. I described the problem specifically and was told to bring it in. When I got there the girl at the service desk told me it was warning me that an oil change was coming up, but I didn't need to bring it in until the light stayed on. So, I wasted a trip and time and decided to get my oil changed early. I have several other examples that I could mention (and keep in mind we've only had service about a dozen times - mostly routine maint), but due to constraints I won't go into detail. Bottom line is the people at the service desk don't know much about their products and there's a huge lack of communication between them, the mechanics and the parts department. I've made several extra trips to get things right. AND, they have made things right and were apologetic, but they should be good enough to get things right the first time, most of the time. I have a total lack of confidence in their service department and would not recommend service there. However, their sales experience was vgery good. Oh yeah, almost forgot. When we had our Fit for a whole 2 months and had it in for an oil change, Honda put a ding in our passenger door. They had no room to put any cars and all were parked far too close to each other. They fixed it for free, but you can see it if you look closely... More

Thanks to Ted Turresi Vince/manager and Larry/finance both helped greatly in sale being final. More
My first experience with Honda of Joliet was in 2002 when we purchased our first Odyssey. Back then, they were the hot, new thing and you had to pay sticker price. I didn't enjoy that but at least the deal we purchased our first Odyssey. Back then, they were the hot, new thing and you had to pay sticker price. I didn't enjoy that but at least the dealership didn't try to sell me a bunch of add ons and they were very pleasant. It was time for a second Odyssey so I got quotes from all of the local dealers over the internet. Jim London gave me a fantastic quote on a new Odyssey--lower than any of the local dealers. When we went in for a test drive, Jim was tied up with customers. He knew we were in a time crunch with three kids in tow, so rather than asking us to wait for him to finish, he asked Mike DeBenedetti to help us out. I really appreciated that he respected our time and that team work seemed to be important at Honda of Joliet. Mike was very pleasant and professional, knew we were just there to test drive and didn't try to pressure us at all. Jim was very helpful in answering all of my questions on the phone the following day & Mike was great when we went in to finish the deal. I appreciated that the great price I was quoted was never changed, nor did Mike try to pressure us into purchasing add ons. Also, Larry Holcombe, our business manager, was friendly, fast, and efficient. He explained our options, but again, no pressure. Overall, this was about as pleasant of an experience as car buying can be. Way to go Honda of Joliet! Thanks for the great deal and the great service. I wish all car dealerships were like this! More
Would I recommend Honda of Joliet? You bet. Would I drive from Chicago again to deal with these folks? Absolutely. And, no, I don’t work for them. In fact, I’m new to the Chicago areaand found them through t from Chicago again to deal with these folks? Absolutely. And, no, I don’t work for them. In fact, I’m new to the Chicago areaand found them through this site. I wanted to buy out the end of a leased Honda Accord. I emailed several area dealers hoping to find one that where the process would not be a hassle or a scam. I found Honda of Joliet late in my search for a dealer. I emailed questions to Josh Casey, one of their internet salesman, so he’d get my email at the beginning of work. I received a courteous and complete response from him by 10:30 AM. Two more quick emails and a phone call later the details ( our situation required some titling changes) were all set. I knew how the retail rollover would work; I knew how much it would cost. I made an appointment to see Josh at 11:45. When we got to the dealership, Josh met us immediately and was friendly, open and helpful. There were no ‘last-minute changes.’ We chatted, he took our information and sat us down in the lounge to wait for the paperwork, including the financing, to be processed. Shortly he took us in to meet Larry Holcombe, a business manager. I expected the usual flim-flam, but got none. The numbers Josh gave us in the earlier emails were the numbers Larry showed us. Larry was open, efficient and easy-going. No pressure. He helped us get advantageous financing. He took us through the paperwork. Yes, he presented the possibility of aftermarket warrantees, but he did so in a way that was clear, reasonable and left entirely to us. There were no other ‘add-ons’ to wrangle with. We were done in twenty minutes. While we were finishing, Josh was put the new plates on our car and took it for a complimentary wash. A retail rollover on a lease is not exactly a high profit deal. Nevertheless, Josh and Larry gave us ample time and considerable expertise. They were fair, low-key, polite and pleasant. We were done, very satisfied and headed home by 2:30PM on a deal that started by email around 10:30 am and included a 45 minute drive to the dealership. I’ll make that drive and deal with these folks anytime. More
Looked for a new 2008 Odyssey at several local dealers and was terribly disappointed with prices and salespersons' attitudes. Went 50 miles out of my way to Honda of Joliet after receiving a great bid on and was terribly disappointed with prices and salespersons' attitudes. Went 50 miles out of my way to Honda of Joliet after receiving a great bid on-line from sales consultant Jim London. My expectations were minimal as I arrived at the dealership but everyone from the receptionist to porters welcomed me with smiles. Jim was called and greeted me warmly. On the way to his office, he eased my reservations. There was absolutely no high pressure, NONE! He described the Odyssey Touring models that were available and we took a quick look at them. The price Jim quoted me on the internet was the price he stood by. NO pressure to spend more or upgrade. He spent over an hour with me to determine the best financing plan to save me money. We weighed the .9% Honda financing vs. the $1000 base lower price using my credit union's 4.5% financing. I told him I needed to think about the options and discuss this with my wife. Jim not only did not pressure me to sign a contract but emailed me that evening with other options we had not covered that afternoon. I called him just before closing that evening and told him my wife and I had decided to purchase the Odyssey from Honda of Joliet. He said he would stay beyond closing to make sure everything was ready for us the next day. When we arrived, the paperwork and the new car were ready. We reviewed the paperwork with Larry Holcombe, Business Manager, who was professional and very friendly. I declined the extended warranty and instead of pressure, Larry smiled and informed me he just needed to be sure I knew the option was available. When the paperwork was completed Jim gave us a complete tour of the Odyssey and spent well over an hour answering our questions. I could not of had a better car buying experience. My hats off to Honda of Joliet. Barvo! More
First of all, I have to say that our sales consultant, Oren Ferguson was GREAT. I have nothing bad to say about him. He was SO pleasant to work with and in all honesty, when I purchase any other vehicles Oren Ferguson was GREAT. I have nothing bad to say about him. He was SO pleasant to work with and in all honesty, when I purchase any other vehicles in the future I will be speaking to Oren first. He is very professional and knows his product. He is not pushy in any way. We were absolutely THRILLED that we met with him. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone to go work with Oren if they are interested in purchasing a Honda. We purchased a Honda CR-V. We began meeting with Oren a month prior to purchasing. We told him we were not ready to purchase at that time, we just wanted to do our research to decide on what we wanted to get. He was completely understanding of this. When it came time for us to purchase, we contacted Oren to see if the model we wanted was in stock. We were torn between two colors and he made sure that both of those colors in the model we wanted were there on the date we said we would be there. We also wanted to make sure that the car would be large enough to hold things like our children's wagon, so Oren arranged for us to borrow a demo car for a few hours so we could take it home to check it out. Everything was great, so we decided to buy. The experience was wonderful until we met with business/sales manager Vince D'Angelo. Vince was so unprofessional that we almost walked away from the deal. When he pulled us into his office to finalize the sale, we noticed the monthly payment was more then we thought it would be and more then we wanted to pay. In all my past car purchases, I would sit in the finance office for the longest period of time going over all the options we had for the payment of the vehicle. Not with Vince though - his only option was for us to put down another $2,000.00. He had everything ready for us to sign and was angry that we didn't like the numbers we saw. Instead of him trying to figure out something that would work for us, he took all the papers he had on this car purchase, threw them into a file and said, "Well, that's what the price is. Now you know for the future. We're done." He basically threw us out of his office and called Oren to talk to him. Oren met us outside of Vince's office ready to show us our new car and we told him we would not be purchasing. We did end up purchasing the car because Oren set us up with Andrew who was able to get us to the monthly payment we wanted. Finishing the deal with Andrew was pleasant, and so far we are VERY happy with our car. I would highly recommend working with Oren, but if the business/sales manager that you have to work with is VINCE D'ANGELO - leave. Don't walk - run. Come back on Vince's day off and work with someone else. This would have been a very pleasant experience from beginning to end if we hadn't had any dealings with Vince. More

When I entered the dealership to look into buying a certified used Honda I was pleasantly approached by Ted. I previously had looked at cars at Thomas Toyota in Joliet and felt like a piece of meat when the salesman swooped down on me and tried to upsell me on a higher priced car. Honda of Joliet had a pleasant atmosphere and I did not feel pressured in any way. Ted was very informative and helpful in assisting me in making my decision. The purchase process went very smoothly. I don't remember the name of the gentleman who assisted me with the paperwork but he was new to the position at the time and was quite good at what he did and was also pleasant to deal with. When I got my car home I did notice there was a hole drilled into the inside of the door jam which I was concerned about due to the possibility of rusting. Ted assisted me in getting into the dealership to cap the hole and was very helpful. With past experiences with other dealerships once I drove off the car lot with my new car I didn't get the same level of treatment as when I had purchased the car. That wasn't so with Ted. He was courteous and vigilant in getting me taken care of. It is so refreshing to have found such a great dealership that provides such a great product. I know I will not go anywhere else for my auto purchasing needs. Rick Koralles/General Manager should be commended in the way he runs his business. More
I found the car I wanted on the web at Honda of Joliet and called from ~100 miles away. Ted Turrisi gave me complete and accurate information.
