On February 16, 2013, I took my 09 jeep to Tate for motor and differential oil service. During the service, they found another problem that was covered under warranty. The problem was that Tate did not have and differential oil service. During the service, they found another problem that was covered under warranty. The problem was that Tate did not have the parts to complete the service. After 3 hours I was told that they would contact me when the part came in. After notification that the part was in, I made an appointment for February 23 as early as possible. I asked the service tech how long it would be and he stated "give us about two hours." I told him I would wait for the repair in the waiting room. This started at 815 a.m. At approximately 1045 the service tech told me that the mechanic had a little issue with the install and should be wrapping up. Needless to say, it was another 2hours 1245 before it was complete. The service tech apologized and offered a free oil change for having to wait so long. I told him I did not want a free oil change, I just didn't understand why he didn't come to me when they realized it was going to take longer and advised me so I could have made arrangements to be picked up or have them shuttle me home. I now had spent 8 hours in Tate's waiting room the past two Saturdays. The comment, "What can we do to make this up to you" sounded like red hot pokers. I guess I should have told them that I would like to be paid the rate they charge per hour. I just wanted my car serviced and completed in a decent period of time. If this was a one time occurrence I probably would not be so mad. About a year ago I had my other vehicle there for warranty work on a Saturday. Atleast they told me it would take a while and I dropped it off. I was notified about 45 minutes before they closed (3PM) that the car was done. I told them that I would not be able to make it before they closed. I was told that they would leave the keys at the dealership and I could pick them up from there until 5 pm. Of course they had to have payment over the phone before they would leave the keys. I arrived at the dealership at approximately 3:25 pm and no one had a clue as to what I was talking about. They ran up to the Service area but everyone was gone. Needless to say I was without my vehicle until Monday morning. I had to take time off of work to retrieve my vehicle. When I arrived on Monday, they did not know what happened to the keys, and after a little while of asking around, it was found that the keys were locked inth e vehicle. I had to wait around until they made a key so that they could get into the vehicle to retrieve my keys. I have purchased 5 vehicles from Tate in the past 6 years and can promise you that I will never do business there again. I cannot risk that I will have a heart attack from my blood pressure boiling every time I go. You have lost a loyal customer Tate your are supposed to be service business, please take the time to learn what Customer Service Means. More
I initially went into the dealer just to check some vehicles for comparison purposes. The salesman (David Giddens) was very personable and very knowledgable. He showed me the three vehicles that I had come in to see and did not try to pressure me into anything. I did not buy any of the cars that I originally came in to look at. After taking another test drive in a completely different vehicle, I bought it. Thanks David. More
