I bought a new Rav4 hybrid from Swickard last week. I have to say that in hindsight I'm disappointed with the experience. I bought the vehicle on the phone and via text, so it was impersonal from the sta have to say that in hindsight I'm disappointed with the experience. I bought the vehicle on the phone and via text, so it was impersonal from the start, which is not the dealership's fault, but when I came in to pick it up there was no enthusiasm or personal touch. Maybe it was just my salesperson, but the whole place had a stale feeling. Very transaction oriented. It was like I came in to check out a used suitcase from craigslist. The salesperson I worked with quickly showed me the vehicle, but we didn't go over the vehicle features/operation, explain warranties in more detail, or maintenance. I thought we would go back to this stuff after we initiated paperwork, but because I decided to support my local credit union, the finance part took a bit more communication and back and forth. When I went to fill out my paperwork with the finance guy, he was kinda demeaning when I confirmed I was going through my own credit union for the loan. Like I was some kind of idiot for doing that. I feel like I was treated as if I were buying a car stereo not a $35k brand new vehicle. I got a little caught up in figuring out my loan, but they could have easily filled the dead time with helpful info. Additionally, swickard requires all buyers to purchase a "swickard deluxe package" which is no more than a $1k tax disguised as an additional warranty. This should be optional, not required. How do you require someone to purchase a warranty, which some of it should be included in your car insurance already? I can't believe this is legal honestly. It's obviously just a way for them to make more money. I will not be taking my vehicle here for service. More
