As consumers in the era of e-commerce we experience both "price-war" style competition among corporations while blissfully maintaining the expectation we automatically will receive A-1 products and services "price-war" style competition among corporations while blissfully maintaining the expectation we automatically will receive A-1 products and services. Genuine customer service is also taken for granted- a sad realization. Honorable and admirable customer service is devolving from what I've observed in my vast 30 year career. No matter where I find myself spending my earnings, I've adapted to accept the cookie cutter pleasantries offered by those in the sales industry. Over the course of the past 7 or 8 months I've spent several hours reading the criticisms published by customers after the acquisition of a vehicle. I don't want to generalize or make any hasty accusations, however, there is a term for what these people feel when they write these naive, frivolous and careless comments. It's called buyer's remorse. The posts on Yelp.Com or any other similar forum have the potential to be devastating to the career and even the livelihood of whom you criticize. I think that if harsh reviews, negative feedback-and the like-were written in a private letter to whom you are upset with, then the anger you feel is far more likely to be neutralized. Indeed, there are circumstances and situations in which I understand, and even encourage, a person to warn other potential buyers of such issues as ineffective problem resolution or devious and malicious sales tactics. My salesperson, Jonny at Toyota 101, was absolutely refreshing. Easy going, efficient and direct. I went to 2 other local dealerships and almost immediately I was offered evasive answers and bizarre hypothetical scenarios. I have since reasoned that the gentlemen were trying to gauge how "serious" I was. Jonny was light-hearted but able to be serious and sincere when appropriate. I recommend visiting Jonny to anyone shopping for a Toyota and would be interested if others posted reviews about their interactions with the young man. Ciao! More

Everything with this purchase was very easy. I knew what I wanted and Omar worked with me to show me what options they had within my preferences. I wanted a 2011 Prius. When I went for the test drive I wa I wanted and Omar worked with me to show me what options they had within my preferences. I wanted a 2011 Prius. When I went for the test drive I was a little nervous about the differences between operating a regular car vs a hybrid. There were several different buttons on the display that definitely didn't look like something I had seen before. I am not that great with new "gadgets" and it looked overwhelming, however Omar was able to explain everything in a way that was easy to understand. Honestly, usually when I am explained the different buttons to operate a new gadget- like my iphone or new remote controls I just figure I will learn eventually with trial and error. In any case, I don't think I will have to do that with this car! I felt no pressure to rush my decision, and Omar helped me feel comfortable asking any questions I had. This is my 7th car that I have owned (with my husband). Four of these cars have been purchased at dealerships. This was the best experience I have had so far! More
I had a pleasure to work with Igor Kapustin. Igor took very good care of me. I still didn't buy my new Sienna but the handling, care, professorialism and courtesy that Igor showed me is amazing. I went to this place shopping for a 2007 Prius. I’d done a lot of research beforehand, but still was very put-off by the condescending attitude of the salesperson I had to deal with. Maybe that should done a lot of research beforehand, but still was very put-off by the condescending attitude of the salesperson I had to deal with. Maybe that should have been a warning sign, but omens be damned, I wanted that Prius, even if it meant putting up with a jerk in a tie and short sleeves for a few hours. After some quite tedious back and forth over the price, we did finally settled on a price that was agreeable. Or so I thought. When it was time to deal with the finance manager and sign the contract, I was incensed to find that they were trying to sneak in a much higher interest rate than the one they’d already promised. Look, I get how this sort of thing works. If you’re not paying attention, unscrupulous salespeople will milk that for all its worth. I suppose what I found most infuriating was the self-righteous tone they took when I called them on it. The sleazy general manager began shouting at me, and arguing that I was the one at fault! I really don’t know how else to characterize the people I had to deal with, other than as unprofessional, and downright immoral. I hope that if you do decide to shop here, you’ll be very, very careful, and that you have a thick-skin when it comes to people generally insulting your intelligence with games and low-balling tactics. In general, I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, and don’t want to leave bad reviews over every little minor annoyance. But in this instance, I really feel morally obligated to share my very poor experience with everyone else. If I hadn’t been paying attention the entire time, the general manager of this dealership would have happily jobbed me out of a few extra thousand bucks. In short, if you want to be treated like an idiot and don’t mind being ripped off, by all means, give this place a shot. Otherwise, I would strongly recommend Fremont Toyota, where there was a refreshing lack of sleaziness and I was able to get a better deal in half the time I wasted at this place. More
Salesman Al Lazo of Toyota 101 in Redwood City is a Magician: Quoted me on a Camry XLE for $100 over invoice less $750 "rebate". My first impression on this was Invoice + $100 + tax, fees, and license Magician: Quoted me on a Camry XLE for $100 over invoice less $750 "rebate". My first impression on this was Invoice + $100 + tax, fees, and license LESS $750 rebate. Actual Amount paid: Invoice + $100 + $750 + Tax/License Fees - $750. Translation: Toyota 101 (thanks Christina Cortez, the finance manager) said they have the $750 rebate. But they have to add it to the original price first before deducting it after tax/license. As a result, there really is no discount/rebate. It's like paying the orig Price + Rebate amount less Rebate Amount. That MEANS NO REBATE. The manager told me they do that with all the customers. This means they can also do this to you. So STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. If you ever consider buying here, get a quote or the "out the door price" in writing first. Better yet, check with other dealers first. I learned a very difficult lesson with this dealership.. Also, Christina Cortez tried to sell me a 5year extended warranty. Does anyone ever needed an extended warranty on a Toyota? I don't get it. The name itself is the guarantee that the car will last a long time. More
