As soon as we parked, a salesperson, Joe, was waiting outside the front door of Sunset Ford to greet us. Joe was very warm and spunky (the perfect salesperson). Between jokes and jives, Joe asked us what we were looking for and began a search of ONLY used vehicles. Joe did not try to sell us a brand new car and was very respectful of our budget. After test driving a few cars, we left to explore other dealerships. By the end of the day, we realized Sunset Ford was the best fit for us. Not all dealerships have someone ready to greet you immediately and not every salesperson has the inventory to respect customer budgets. I highly recommend Sunset Ford and Joe. They provide the best customer care and they are not pushy. They truly want to help customers find a vehicle that works, not just sell cars to make a quota. Not taken care of. I decided to purchase from Sunset because of their size and reputation. Buying from individuals and small dealerships, you just don’t know what you’re I decided to purchase from Sunset because of their size and reputation. Buying from individuals and small dealerships, you just don’t know what you’re getting. When I purchased my 2011 Edge, I did so used “as is”. I know how that works, and I work on my own vehicles so it’s not a big deal to me. However, I believe a premium dealership sells premium used cars, and checks those cars over before selling them off again. I shouldn’t be back at the dealership days after purchase with significant issues with the vehicle. My salesman told me they won’t sell me junk. While I don’t think my newer vehicle is junk, I also don’t this I should be on the hook for $1750 worth of repairs so close to my purchase date. I didn’t ask them to fix it all at no cost to me, I only asked for some help with the costs. They offered none, and told me I should have bought a warranty. Maybe most people should. I told them maybe the vehicle they sold me should make it 30 days without a major warning light came on. I offered to pay for parts if they would put them on. I thought that was fair. Nothing in return. I don’t feel good about my experience, and that’s a bummer. It’s supposed to feel great buying a new ride. More

Bullied and upset I recently had an awful experience at Sunset Waterloo. I had already test driven the car I wanted at another dealership and came to this one because I recently had an awful experience at Sunset Waterloo. I had already test driven the car I wanted at another dealership and came to this one because they had the model and options I wanted. The salesman was great but I had my doubts on the appraisal of my trade in, particularly in some known options of my car brand that were maybe unknown to the staff. He brought over the manager, who had appraised it, to discuss it. The manager, Mark Springer, came over and sat down apparently irritated with my concerns. He looked at me with disgust, and when I raised my concerns he became threatening as if I had challenged his ego. This was not a discussion. He was reprimanding me for not doing as he said- that’s not customer service? I’m not sure if he didn’t like me questioning him, or me -as a woman-questioning him, but his demeanor and glare caused me to feel my arms and legs go weak with fear. I was being bullied and shamed. The altercation was nothing I had expected of a sales encounter. This was the manager! The example for this building? While he continued to speak harshly and negatively about me, in front of my young children, I calmly and without speaking stood and walked out of the building. I was shaking as the salesman came out to apologize for what he witnessed. When you are paying $45,000 for a vehicle, you deserve to feel valued, respected and safe. More

Excellant service from the sales department ! I have been looking for a good used Jeep Wrangler Unlimited for a while. I ran across an ad from Sunset Ford of Waterloo Illinois. They had a Jeep tha I have been looking for a good used Jeep Wrangler Unlimited for a while. I ran across an ad from Sunset Ford of Waterloo Illinois. They had a Jeep that I was interested in. I e-mailed the dealership and was connected with Julian Henson. I live in Arkansas and was willing to drive 360 miles and six hours one way to his dealership if we could work out a deal. Julian was an absolute pleasure to work with ! He was very patient with me and all my questions about buying a vehicle from another State. It took me several days to get the Jeep bought because of the way that I work, but Julian kept me posted on the progress of the paperwork involved. There were several issues that came up dealing with my Credit Union, but Julian handled everything. At no time did Julian or Bill Rolufs in Finance, put me under any kind of pressure during this purchase. I highly recommend Julian to anyone considering buying a vehicle. In my opinion, he went above and beyond for my wife and I, going so far as sending me links for tickets to the Cardinal Baseball game and recommending places to eat while in the St Louis area. Julian also topped off my tank on the Jeep for the trip home, which he didn't have to do ! Julian also followed up after the sale a few days later to make sure everything was going well and to answer any more question that I my have had about the Jeep. Absolutely a great guy to work with.
