I recently purchased a new car from Gary Sikes at Subaru of Gwinnett. I dreaded looking for a new car because of the way I had been treated in the past by sales people and dealerships. Gary made my car buying experience very positive from the time I walked in the door to test drive, all the way through delivery. I really appreciated his laid back, no pressure approach to selling cars! He is not your stereotypical car sales person. I still can't believe how fast he got me this car! Tuesday morning I gave him a deposit and he located the car I wanted. It was being delivered on a truck to Kennesaw. The next morning, he had it driven down to his dealership, prepped, all the paper work done, and delivered to me all within a few hours. They really know what they are doing over there! I just have to say that I absolutely LOVE my new 2014 Outback 3.6R Limited! I love how it looks, it drives and handles the road SO nice, it's very comfortable, and fun to drive! I also love the colors inside and out, Carbide gray with charcoal leather. The interior to me looks and feels like it could compete with some of the more expensive higher end imports. So, I feel like I am driving a luxury car without looking pretentious and didn't spend a small fortune getting what I wanted. I am very happy with my purchase and I am sure that I will be driving this car for many years! I can't wait to take it up to our cabin in the north Georgia mountains and drive it on the gravel mountain roads. Gary also gave me some great advice by telling me to make sure that I cancel my extended warranty on the car that I traded in. He said that I would get some money back. I would not have even thought about that. I cancelled it yesterday and I am getting back $976!!! Big bonus!!! I have to say that everyone I met, while at the dealership, was so friendly and good at what they do. It was a pleasure doing business with them! In the future, when I have friends or family looking for a car, I will definitely tell them to go to Subaru of Gwinnett and ask for Gary Sikes. More
I purchased a brand new impreza WRX in August 2012. At 9k miles the engine started making a tapping noise so i took it to the dealership. here is what happened: first of all it took them a full week to 9k miles the engine started making a tapping noise so i took it to the dealership. here is what happened: first of all it took them a full week to even call us with any information about the car, and they immediately started accusing me of tuning the car and racing it when the only thing i had done to the car was replace the stock muffler with magnaflow exhaust. they said that had nothing to do with what went wrong with the engine. Then, they tried telling me that the oil filter and oil was never changed and that the warranty as voided because of that. so what happened with all that stuff about me tuning the engine? but that is besides the point... because i took the car to get the oil changed at 3000 miles and I showed them the reciept i had for doing that. Herb Hoffman was the man we were in communication with during all this and after constantly accusing us of things that were not true. even if the oil filter was not changed, how would the engine blow up at 9000 miles? You would think they would stand behind their product enough to fix it with no problem since it is under warranty. More
Swindia Matos is by far the best car salesperson I have ever dealt with. I negotiate contracts and issue resolutions all the time as part of my profession and so I have really never enjoyed nor liked the ever dealt with. She has an at ease, friendly, straight-forward personal style that makes buying a car almost enjoyable. I would recommend anyone to ask for her. I enjoyed the experience negotiating the purchase of a 2013 Crosstrek for my youngest son so much I returned to see Swindia two weeks later and assisted my older son in the purchase of a 2014 Forester 2.0XT Touring. I never thought I would ever say I respect and enjoy working with a new car salesperson, but I do Swindia! More

I already knew I wanted another Forester because my girl, Ruby, had performed so well for me in the 9 years I owned her, including superior safety in a serious roll-over accident. Buying a car was yet one more thing I did not have the energy, the desire to the time to do. I did not want to deal with slick salesmen, and I did not want to exceed my budget. I tried several dealers inside and outside of GA, and then I went to Gwinnett Subaru. After having dealt with SIX other dealers over several days prior to talking with and meeting Chris Davis at Gwinnett Subaru, I had become jaded and suspicious of most car dealers and their numbers games. Chris proved me wrong immediately by quickly demonstrating his understanding of my needs, and by showing me the respect I believe should be shown to any potential customer. Chris is not the typical "car salesman". He is knowedgeable about his product, his market, and he truly seeks to understand your unique personal situation before discussing vehicles and opportunities. I can, without reservation, commend Chris Davis and Gwinnett Subaru for excellent customer service, product knowledge, and the easiest car buying experience I've ever encountered. Chris and his team quickly understood my needs and my budget, and worked tirelessly to match me up with the right car and the right price with as little stress as possible. If you are in the market for a pre-owned Subaru, call Chris. You won't be disappointed. I will go so far as to say he may even change your mind about the negative stereotypical used car salesman. I hate to be the only negative review for this dealer but I feel it is necessary to post. I was trying to negotiate a car purchase while out of town. We selected a vehicle of interest, my wife went to the dealership, test drove the vehicle, and then left it to me to negotiate. The test drive was on a Monday. I applied for financing with Chris Davis and provided all my information and was approved. I received a sales figure from Chris late Tuesday with instructions on what needed to be done to hold the car until I could get by Friday to sign the papers. Chris' e-mail read, "I'm leaving the showroom now, but will be back in morning. Call me if you need anything right away. We could hold vehicle w/ copy of DL ( both ), insurance card and I'll send you a Buyer's Order, please sign and send back. Then we will hold vehicle until Friday." On Wednesday I sent in the documents he requested and never heard a word back from Chris. I e-mailed him twice and called once and left a voicemail. I sent an e-mail to the manager and Chris finally replied back near 7PM (closing time) and told me the car we wanted was sold that morning to another person. I expressed my disappointment and questioned why he didn't contact me back to let me know there was another interested party. I copied Stephen Lucas the manager. The next day I received the following from Stephen Lucas: "I am sorry that we were unable to complete the deal on the Tribeca. It is the nature of our business that we get lots of people coming to the dealership saying that they are ready, willing and able to buy a vehicle from us. Unfortunately most of those people do not follow through with what they say, that’s sales. It is because of this, that the business as a whole, has a rule of first come first serve and we do not hold cars on someone’s word or good intentions." This was contrary to Chris' statement above. Again, I hate to be the only negative post but people in my situation need to know this. You are told one thing by one person and then another by the other. They should have had the decency to contact me right away to let me know so I could have made appropriate arrangements. We are definitely purchasing a car within a week but it definitely won't be from this dealership. More
We worked with Lance over a period of 3 months to buy a new car. He really never came across as a car sales rep. He worked with us to understand our needs, and delivered the right car at the right time (when we were ready to buy), and gave us a great price. This car buying experience was the most pleasurable, something that seldom happens at a car dealership. I would certainly work with Lance for our next car purchase. More

He was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process and didn't make me feel like we were wasting his time with not being sure that we wanted the car after a test-drive. He offered to still give us advice if we found our perfect car somewhere else, and that to me goes "above and beyond"! I will definitely be sending my friends and family to see him if they are looking for another car, and if we ever have need of buying or trading our car in, I will be coming back to see Chris. I had done considerable research on the Forester and had decided I wanted to buy one if I could work out a deal. I had put in a general request online about being intersted in a Forester, and Swindia had contacted me and given me some basic information about prices, which seemed fair. I told her what I wanted (a entry-level Forester that is automatic that was a light color) and she emailed me that she had just gotten a white and a silver Forester in. I made an appointment, and my wife and I went down, took the car we wanted to trade, and test drove the silver Forester. It drove well for my wife (who will be the primary driver) and I liked it too. Swindia was always helpful, giving us information and explaining the pricing and other things. I enjoyed working with her and felt no pressure to buy. She even helped me get a small price break. Everyone in the dealership was nice and helpful, and they all liked dogs and let us bring our rat terrier in and made a lot over him, giving him teats and so forth. We had a pleasant experience, got a car at t fair price, and drove it out that afternoon. I recommend the dealership and Swindia. She was a lot of fun to work with. More

Helpful from the start, she was never pushy or annoyed throughout the entire negotiating process. She even came to pick me up at my house as I didn't have a car or a ride to the dealership to pick up my car! Her attitude made the whole new car purchase a wonderful experience.
