'WorkinJoe" - I sincerely apologize if our sales associate was not clear on the reason why the vehicle you were inquiring was marked up. We have a Stapp I25 Custom department where we will add dealer installed accessories to available inventory, which in turn will raise the cost of the vehicle. While you don't state which vehicle you were inquiring about, our Stapp I25 Custom vehicles are the only time a vehicle would have a price higher than MSRP, again because we have added accessories to the vehicle. To suggest that we are engaging in "opportunistic price gouging" is categorically false. Should you have any other concerns, please feel free to contact me. Badmonkey- I looked at our records and see that you inquired about a Toyota RAV4 Prime. At the time we had a waiting list of customers that had deposits on the vehicle and we explained that it could take more than a year to have one allocated to us that you could reserve. RAV4 Prime is a vehicle with a high demand and we try to accommodate our customer's preferred vehicle choice the best we can. You are correct we do only do mechanical repairs. I have carefully studied your review and spoken with my service department. When filing a warranty claim, there are certain steps that we have to follow to ensure that a warranty claim is accepted by Toyota. One of those is determining if the part failed due to manufacture error or has the vehicle been damaged and repaired. When our technician diagnosed the vehicle he noted that there had been signs of repair. If parts are returned to Toyota on a warranty claim that show sign of damage the customer will become responsible for the bill. We wanted to ensure that we exhausted all opportunities to have this resolved as a warranty claim, which included contacting the dealer from where the vehicle was purchased from to see if they had any records of repaired damage.
