Best Subaru Dealer to deal with for Sales, Parts and Service This is our 4th Subaru and our daughter owns one as well. This is the first one we have bought from So Oregon Subaru. We give special kudos to our salesman, Nick Knutson, who took the time to answer all of our questions and explain everything. When the financing was finished Nick sat in the car and went over every function with us. We have dealt with the service and parts department for our other Subaru's and we recommend them highly. Used car gone wrong. My fiance recently had towed his 2005 Subaru WRX to this dealership. We told them that gears 3-5 were slipping and the transmission was going out (jus My fiance recently had towed his 2005 Subaru WRX to this dealership. We told them that gears 3-5 were slipping and the transmission was going out (just like in a previous car we've owned.) They replaced the clutch (?? they said it "fell" apart which not sure why they took it out in the first place).... and then after they replaced the clutch ($1300 quoted), they did say that the transmission needed to be replaced quoted for about $4500. We're saving for a wedding so there wasn't really an option to fix the car, we opted to find a safe, reliable car. We drove about 2.5 hours there on July 1st, 2017 because they said that there was a reliable 2013 black Subaru WRX that my fiance could look at. We test drove the car and everything was fine. We went through with the deal (almost paying $30,000) for this used car. We drove about half way home and the whole dashboard lit up with a check engine light, traction control, etc. The engine started to sound like there was a belt or something else loose. The clutch was started squeaking making a bizzare sound when pressing it in. It was late and we couldn't drive back since no hotels had openings being it be 4th of July weekend. We took the car back on July 2nd, 2017 saying we wanted a different car (brand new car) or the old car back and we'll just figure something out since we didn't drive 2.5 hours to come and buy a car that was unreliable, unsafe, and that we would have to bring back to fix every month. They straight told us NO that we signed a contract, they didn't have 3 day guarantee, They also said that we "couldn't give a car back that we didn't want anymore because of the contract and it was already sent to the bank anyway." We didn't want to give the car back just because we didn't want it. It was already having problems not even 2 hours after we drove off the lot. I'm not sure who has the time to drive 2.5 hours back and forth all of the time for a car they just bought. We were promised a rental car, which we didn't get since it was a holiday, which we needed since me and my fiance work full time jobs and he gets held over at his job with no say. They didn't offer one of their rental cars since we're only 24. They then delivered the car back to us on Sunday July 9th. The car then started leaking oil everywhere causing the engine bay to smoke, which is dangerous if there was to be a spark. The noise still wasn't fixed. The dash lights were indeed the only thing that actually was fixed. My fiance then drove the car back on July 10th that morning and dropped the car to them again. He stated that a wheel bearing may be making the noise or possibly a rotar, the clutch still sounded the same. We got a rental this time (that he waited over 4 hours for) and drove home. We got a call friday evening saying the car was fixed and ready, no one offered to drive the car to us for all of our time driving over.. We picked the car up Monday July 17th. All of the "repairs" the dealership did was on them, they did not charge us. They also cleared the $1300 clutch job in the old car we didn't have to pay that (after 4 days of arguing that we shouldn't have to pay for a clutch job in a car we don't even have going through multiple people to get to that point.) As of today, the car still makes a super weird sound that they refuse to fix on them, they told us to take it back to them Aug. 1st and they can fix it under a warranty we bought (thank god) with a $50 deductible everytime. We WILL NOT be going there to fix the car anymore. The sales guy Rick, he was nice and friendly until the car started having problems. The managers of Sales and the general manager were very rude not letting us speak to the owner (the gen. manager said he was owner, but on their website it clearly states he is not.) They treated us like crap, did not see if from a customer point of view. Had no sympathy for our situation. I'm sure these types of situations don't often come around, so it just doesn't make sense the way the dealership and the employees went about things. When it comes to the 2013 Subaru we bought the dealership either didn't do full inspection on the 2013 car when they bought it from the previous seller, lied about the condition, or are simply incompetent in what problems look like in cars. Either way, we bought the car and are still stuck with it. My fiance works with a lot of people at his job where word gets around. We WILL NOT recommend ANYONE go to this dealership to get any type of car EVER. Once the dealership gets their money, they are simply done doing their job and won't make a wrong right. I let everyone know where we got my fiances newer car and let them know to not go to this dealership and do NOT get your car looked at or fixed here. If buying a Subaru please do not go here, especially used. Go somewhere where IF there is a problem they have a 3 day guarantee just to be safe. This situation doesn't happen often but when it does you want someone who's on your side. More
