We was first welcomed by a retail sale, Paul who showed us around and referred us to Brian Nguyen who worked with us until we drove the car home. Brian ( Hung) Nguyen is very thorough and very nice to work with. We did not feel pressure but wanted to come back the following day to get the car. He answered all of our questions and showed us all functions of a new 2018 car with all updated technology without rushing. He is very easy to work with and especially you can trust him to guild you through the whole process to get the car of you want. Thank you so much Anh Hung for your great service . I would come back and will recommend my family, friends to South Coast Toyota and would work with the fleet team to get the best deal. WORKMANSHIP OF MAINTENANCE SERVICE WELL BELOW ACCEPTABLE SALES The sales personnel were very competent and professional. I believe that I purchase the car at the best possible price. SERVICE Unlike independently owned service stations, there is no way to directly check or observe mechanic’s or service personnel’s work as the service area is strictly off limits to customers. No one can even get close enough to see the service bays. Additionally, I specifically asked that my tires were to be inflated to 36 PSI. This was entered on the service order by the writer. I measured the tires after each service for the first 1-1/2 years (free for 2 years). Each time, the tire pressure read between 44 and 48 PSI, well above the recommended pressure. In order to check my two pressure gages, I asked the service writer to have the technician check my gauges against their gauges. When we picked up the car, the service writer said that the tech said my gauges were “no good”. I suspect that they were never tested. Eventually, I stopped in at my regular service garage and asked them to check my gauges. The owner tested them against his own personal CALIBRATED tire pressure gauges. One of my gauges read exactly as his did. The other was only one pound high. My conclusion is that the service personnel are incompetent and/or just do not care about the owners. Additionally, a single lady friend of the family also used South Coast Toyota for years on an older Toyota. She was told that she soon needed expensive repair which she could not afford. I sent her to my regular service station. They totally negated what was told to her by South Coast Toyota. In my 60+ years of driving, my experience with dealership service has always been the same. It is my opinion that they push unneeded parts and service without giving a rip about customer service, and honesty, or the cost to the consumer. After my free two year service is completed, I will continue with my regular, trusted, HONEST service station. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact me.
