Unfortunately, the repair procedure you were able to find on the internet was not in the repair manual we use from Kia. If we would have known about this process, we would have absolutely used it to repair the issue with your vehicle. We hope your previous visit and experience does not deter you from visiting us again for any services or repairs your vehicle may require in the future.

The issue I am left with is that a fix this simple not being in the repair manual on a vehicle that has been out for several model years gives me pause about what other relatively simple fixes are not in the manual that I may get an unreasonable or unnecessary repair quote for. I now feel that I will have the necessity of researching everything beyond an oil change ahead of time so that I can have any confidence in what I am being told in the service department. Taking the approach that the service department can only approach things from the standpoint of what Kia has provided makes me tend to think that I won't consider another Kia vehicle purchase when replacing our other car next year.
