The service team was very professional and polite, providing clear information on the services being performed, in addition to keeping me apprised of progress. I have no concerns with the work completed and was very satisfied. Suggestion: Waiting area could be enhanced if there was a TV provided to help pass the time while there. Concern: I was surprised when I went to pay for the service with my credit card as I was told they would add a 3.5% fee for using my card. This was the first time I had this happen since I started servicing my vehicle there and having worked in the credit card industry, I know this is the merchant transaction fee you have to pay for each credit card transaction, which I'm sure is tiered based upon your volume of transactions, where higher transactions equate to a lower fee per charge. But you have chosen instead to pass this cost on to your customers. If you would look into accepting debit cards, that could lower your cost structure as there would not be a processing fee as this is considered same as cash. **More importantly, you should inform your customers when they schedule service of the processing fee to use their credit card. This way they have the option to bring cash** I was fortunate I had enough cash with me to pay for the service, but I find this to be deceiving for customers, as they will be forced to pay extra just to be able to retrieve their vehicle and go about their day. Very bad business model, as this is a dissatisfier for customers, just for you to increase your overall profit margins, by not paying what is considered a cost of doing business to accept credit cards. It would be easier for you to adjust your prices to account for this processing fee, then none the wiser, but too late as this is out in the open. While I appreciate the great service and friendly/professional staff, I am questioning if I will return for higher priced service items that will require me to pay an additional 3.5% just because I would prefer to use a card vs. having to bring a large sum of cash with me. Remember, this day and age, not many people walk around with significant cash amounts in their pockets, given all the credit care/digital options available to pay for everyday expenses. Thanks again for the great service experience and really hope you rethink your approach for payment options, as I see I am not the first customer to bring up this concern. More

Nick Weiner at Service is outstanding, goes above and beyond. Nick is honest, with Empathy and understanding. Nick puts me at ease with my 2020 volkswagon jetta, knowing that he will do good work. Because of Nick Weiner working in service, I am not afraid to have work done on my car, or that I will be taken advantage of. However, Smithtown Volkswagon really needs to stop charging a fee for using a credit card? WHY? The service and parts are already very expensive, WHY DOES THE OWNER NEED TO CHARGE A FEE FOR USING A CREDIT CARD?? THIS IS NOT Right and Just, and This fee for using a credit card, needs to be arrested, apphrended, put an End to this Unfair FEE. However this has nothing to do with Nick Weiner who is outstanding with Kindness and Empathy. Nick deserves a special Bonus, from Bob Ribildo, who takes his bonuses. More
This service department has made a complete turnaround since the last time I was there and is running much more efficiently than it used to .
