This is the third vehicle we have purchased at this dealership and will likely go back when it is time to purchase another vehicle. dealership and will likely go back when it is time to purchase another vehicle. More
Smithtown Volkswagen has again exceeded my expectations in servicing my Passat. After a call to Noah, my service advisor, this service visit was scheduled to ensure a loaner vehicle to check out a fault in servicing my Passat. After a call to Noah, my service advisor, this service visit was scheduled to ensure a loaner vehicle to check out a faulty proximity sensor on the passenger door. It works as designed except if I do not use the car for a few days and then it stops working. Only the passenger side door is a problem and once I either use the key fob or just touch the driver's side door to unlock the vehicle the passenger side will start working until I again do not use the car for a few days. After leaving the vehicle alone for a few days, and a thorough troubleshooting with no error codes, the techs/mechanics were unable to diagnose the problem. Noah after explaining the issue and what was done to diagnose told me to video the next time it happens after not using the car for a few days and to give him a call to schedule another try as that particular issue is still covered by the Volkswagen parts warranty. This visit is another example of the exceptional service and care I've always received since purchasing my 2018 Passat SEL from Smithtown Volkswagen. More
If I could give this place -10 stars, I would. Do not waste your time. I rarely leave reviews, but this dealership deserves one. This is, without a doubt, the worst dealership I have ever been Do not waste your time. I rarely leave reviews, but this dealership deserves one. This is, without a doubt, the worst dealership I have ever been to. The day before visiting, I called ahead to confirm if there were any hidden fees. I was assured there were none. I also did my research to ensure they had decent reviews. The next day, my husband and I drove two hours from NJ, paying over $40 in tolls, only to arrive at a dealership that immediately felt shady. The showroom was dirty, and the overall atmosphere was just off. After test-driving the car, we sat down to discuss pricing. Before negotiations even started, my husband—a 90% disabled veteran—asked if they offered any military discounts. The salesman immediately dismissed us, saying they don’t offer discounts on used cars. Funny, because just a few months ago, we purchased a used 2017 Chevy Silverado and received a military discount without issue. Then came the real scam—the price of the car suddenly increased by $4,500. • $2,000 was added because they “don’t reflect that online.” • $1,850 for “reserving the vehicle”—on a car with a cracked windshield and worn brakes. What exactly was I reserving? • $650 processing fee. I immediately confronted them, reminding them that I had called the day before to confirm there wouldn’t be hidden fees. The manager tried to excuse it, saying they “recently updated their website,” which is why the extra $2,000 wasn’t listed. But what exactly was that cost even for? They couldn’t answer. At that point, I didn’t even bother negotiating. I refuse to support a business that lies to get people in the door and then tries to scam them on the spot. I have bought multiple cars and have never been treated this poorly. This dealership wasted my time, my money, and my patience. I will make sure this review is posted everywhere so no one else falls for their dishonest tactics. To everyone at this dealership: I hope you have the day you deserve. More
