I rated Friendliness with a five because of the ease of talk to Guiseppe and Chris when having questions about the car and begger pricing. I rated price with a four because I did not get the price I was hoping for, however, it was a price I could manage with. Joe Urso was the sales agent who did everything to accomodate me when I purchased my Pathfinder. He and the manager Ray Fritta consulted to give me every benefit possible. From the moment I came into the Smithtown Nissan dealership, I was greeted by Joe Urso. Joe proved to be incredibly knowledgeable while maintaining his professionalism. It is this attitude that I saw throughout the entire staff at Smithtown Nissan. After my sale, my paperwork was diligently and carefully handled by Chris Nesky. Dustin, John and the service contract young lady were great. They stayed on top of the sale to make it as smooth as possible. Mike Trotta is a very professional salesperson. I appreciate the time he took to hear me out on what I wanted, and not what he wanted which most sale persons do. I enjoyed the customer service, speaking for myself concerning the issue I was in before I got there. The overall quality of work was at some time was confusing, but that's how it is when you have to many hands in on one situation. I believe more things could have been explained, based on the information that was given to my sales person. My overall experience with Mr. Trotta was a good one, even though he doesn't return phone calls after the sale. I would recommend any of my friends to see Mike. I just wish you can deal with your sales person through the whole process instead of everyone else, that's when things start to get confusing or certain information starts to get mislead. But, I would like to thank you guys at Smithtown for given me a new start and I appreciate everything, except for not telling me, that I have to write a essay to get a free oil change. More
First of all, I feel that I was mislead during the buying process for my new Nissan Altima. The salesman was very vague as to the particulars of the leasing process. I told him that I didn't have money to process for my new Nissan Altima. The salesman was very vague as to the particulars of the leasing process. I told him that I didn't have money to put down (no trade-in or much cash) and he said that I didn't have to put money down. I found out when I sat down with the finance manager that I needed to pay $3,200 up front. I almost walked away from the deal, but needing a car (my previous car was totaled)and knowing that Nissan is supposedly a very well-made and reliable car, I went through with the deal. I don't think I was given a great deal, though. Second point, Giuseppe said that my first oil change would be complimentary. He did't explain that I needed to go through this survey process in order to get the complimentary oil change. So, I made my first appointment and called him just to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Unfortunately, he was on vacation. When I went for the oil change, I was told that I had to pay for it because I didn't have a voucher. I tried getting a hold of Giuseppe while at the service counter, but he wasn't in at the time. I spoke to Greg, his manager, and he said that he would have Giuseppe call me, but that I should pay for this oil change and wait for the next one to be complimentary. When I didn't hear from Giuseppe, I called him, but he wasn't available, so I left a message with the receptionist to have him call me. Note: Smithtown Nissan does not have voice mail for their salesman and the receptionist doesn't seem to do her job, so Giuseppe never got my message. Prior to this, Giuseppe had called me after I bought the car and left a message askig if I received a survey. I returned his call and left a message with the receptionist to let him know I had not received one. It doesn't seem like he ever received that message, either. In the meantime (third point), I received a "Security Plus" service agreement in the mail. I wasn't told at the time of purchase that I was getting this extended warranty. I don't know if this was something I paid extra for or if it was complimentary. Based on the disappointment of Giuseppe not getting back to me about the complimentary oil change and the confusion of receiving an extended warranty agreement in the mail, I called Nissan Consumer Affairs. They assigned me a file number and a "Regional Specialist". This also turned out to be very frustrating because it took 3 weeks of messages (my file was also closed and I had to re-open it) to finally be told that they couldn't do much, but request that Smithtown Nissan call me. That request was also submitted by Nissan Consumer Affairs when I first called. Obviously, the requests didn't prompt the dealership to call me. It was only after my wife called yesterday and finally spoke to Giuseppe that I was able to get the information I needed, so I could fill out this survey. He was very nice and said he didn't know that I needed him to send me the survey instructions. Thus far, I have been very dissatisfied with Nissan, but will give them a second chance to do right by me. I have a 3 year lease and will see how things go as we move forward. As of now, I cannot say that I would recommend Smithtown Nissan to friends or family. Nick Petroccione More
