Not all I'd hoped for . . . (though the problem is resolved) UPDATE: The day after this review was posted, I was contacted by a Skyline Ford sales manager. He said there had been internal issues in accurately co UPDATE: The day after this review was posted, I was contacted by a Skyline Ford sales manager. He said there had been internal issues in accurately communicating to me what the dealership would have been willing to do to rectify the problem described below. After discussion, the issue—a missing programmable key which I had replaced at my own expense—was resolved with an offer to reimburse the cost I’d incurred getting a second key made elsewhere. Both the service manager and I regretted that the situation was not settled prior to the review, but the problem is now resolved. ---------- This review is a bit long because I promised the dealership that I’d recite all of the details . . . I bought a Ford truck last week at Skyline Ford in Salem, Oregon. The people were pleasant, the truck was nice and it had been a decent experience. However, before signing any agreements, I asked my salesperson if two programmable keys came with the vehicle. He said yes, pointing to the key tag showing it was marked “2 of 2.” I signed the papers and went to drive the truck home, but was told they couldn’t find the second key, though my sales rep thought he knew where it was and would look for it. The next day, though, I was told that regardless of what the key tag said, there was no second key and they had never had one. I had included the value of the remote key when making my offer and didn’t want to pay a few hundred dollars to buy a key I’d expected to have. I talked about my options with the sales rep, who told me that they wouldn’t provide a new key and that I should buy one myself. Further, he said that what he had really told me was that there were two keys assuming they could find the second one. I then talked to the sales manager who repeated that they would not replace the key, but he would think about whether anything could be done. Skyline later offered to provide the key itself, but I would have to travel to them to have the key programmed (about a three hour time investment for me) and would need to pay for that programming. I was also told that I could have this deal after they saw that I had left a positive internet review of the dealership. I declined this offer. I‘ve bought dozens of vehicles over the years and have dealt with perhaps twenty dealerships. Several of them, I’m convinced, would have tried to make me satisfied, offering me reimbursement for a new key programmed at a place convenient to me, perhaps recognizing that it would be unfair for me to bear the expense resulting from their mistake. But certainly others would not have helped, even if admitting that in no way was I to blame. So while I wasn’t totally surprised by the way Skyline Ford handled my problem, I was disappointed. More

We actually were on our way to the Honda dealership when I pulled in and asked about a Hybrid that might be new but a demo. They found two and one was perfect. We purchased immediately. Korey was very helpful and answered all our questions and guided us through the paperwork. I would buy from him again. More
