If I could give less than one star I would. I scheduled a service appointment and requested that my alarm be deactivated as it frequently goes off. They couldn’t do the alarm that day after all I scheduled a service appointment and requested that my alarm be deactivated as it frequently goes off. They couldn’t do the alarm that day after all and I was told to come back the next day which I did. I was told to wait a half hour while they deactivated the alarm. This is 3 days later and my alarm just went off. Obviously nothing was done. I will never use this dealership again, and will warn others about the shady service. More
It was very clean and peaceful. I didn’t have an appointment for an oil change but they were able to fit me in and finish in a timely manner. Great service by the man who helped us I didn’t have an appointment for an oil change but they were able to fit me in and finish in a timely manner. Great service by the man who helped us and went over future work covered by my car’s warranty that I didn’t know about. Super greatful to know about the leak! Thank you! More
I am writing to formally express my disappointment with the recent service I received at Honda Monrovia. My experience involved several issues, including misleading pricing, poor record-keeping, unexpected fees, and service errors. I am requesting an appropriate resolution to these matters. Misleading Oil Change PricingRecently, I received an email promotion stating that an oil and filter change would cost $64.88. After the service, I was charged $84.88 due to an additional $20 fee for synthetic oil. While I later found the fine print mentioning this fee, it was not made clear upfront. Customers should be properly informed of all potential charges before service. Warranty Dispute & Poor Record-KeepingDuring the same visit, I was informed that my battery needed replacement. I mentioned that I had replaced the battery at Honda Monrovia five years ago and that it was still under warranty. However, I was told that my car's ownership had changed two years ago, which is incorrect as I have owned the car for the past six years. Additionally, the dealership claimed they had no record of my previous battery purchase and required me to provide the receipt. Fortunately, I found it in my car, but I should not have had to go through such trouble due to poor record-keeping. Unreasonable Warranty RestrictionsAfter confirming the warranty, I asked if I could purchase the discounted battery and install it myself. I was told this was not an option and that I had to pay full price if I wanted to install it independently. I find this restriction unreasonable, as the battery should be covered under warranty regardless of who installs it. Furthermore, the warranty discount percentage is based on the exact number of months since the last purchase, but the dealership struggled to calculate this correctly. I strongly recommend using a simple tool to determine the warranty discount more accurately and transparently. Unexpected and Unclear FeesAfter replacing my battery, I was charged $80 for the battery (after warranty discount) and an additional $60 as an "insulation fee." This charge was never clearly mentioned before the service, and when I questioned it, I was told the insulation fee, labor fee, and installation fee were all the same thing. However, my receipt did not list this fee separately—it was combined with the battery price. This lack of transparency is unacceptable, and I believe I was unfairly charged. Post-Service Issues: Key Fob, Radio, and AC MalfunctionAfter receiving my car, I immediately noticed that my key fob was not working—it could not lock or unlock the car. The dealership staff struggled to locate my car in the parking lot because they could not activate the alarm. I had to help them find my car, which should have alerted them that something was wrong. Later, I discovered my car’s radio had no power, further indicating an issue with the battery replacement. I planned to return to the dealership to have this issue fixed, but two days later, the radio, AC, and key fob suddenly started working again. While I am relieved that the issues resolved themselves, this unexplained malfunction suggests that something was not properly handled during the battery replacement. More
