Be ready for the hard sell tactics! I purchased a used vehicle from Shottenkirk coming from a different city to pick the vehicle up. During the week prior to pickup, I asked my sale I purchased a used vehicle from Shottenkirk coming from a different city to pick the vehicle up. During the week prior to pickup, I asked my salesman, David Coffee, for a copy of the purchase agreement so that we could agree on final pricing. It was never delivered. That is the hook they use to get buyers into the dealership. I also asked about the number of keys that were available for the vehicle (because of the blanket key disclaimer that is on the dealership website) and was told that, given that it was a prior year model, there were likely 2 keys. I asked him to confirm that prior to me arriving. When I arrived, I was greeted very pleasantly and the sales schtick began. First, my trade-in. I had a quote from CarMax that wasn't honored. In fact the dealership only offered half of my CarMax offer. Now, given that I was coming from out of town, they thought I would be stuck. I told them that I would not sell them the car for the offered price and would return in a couple of days to retrieve it. I was told that I could not leave the vehicle on the premise. Eventually we agreed on pricing although I still received far less than my CarMax offer. Next was all of the add-ons that were forced onto the sales price. the $3000 xxxxtenkirk customer care plan was non-negotiable. I argued that there were no Shottenkirk dealers in my area but this was non-negotiable. The remaining add-ons were a fight on each one. Gap Insurance was added and argued for, Ethos maintenance plan, additional warranty coverage, tire protection - all adding more than $17,000 to the purchase price! I argued each one with the finance manager (because the salesman can't be a part of this process) and spent nearly 3 hours at the dealership before leaving with the vehicle and getting 90% of the fees removed. It was a horrible experience... I was only given one key and told to call the GM the following week. I did and was told that he was not in the office. I was given the assistant GM (Cody?) who was the rudest person I have dealt with in a long time. He was aggressive and confrontational and told me that he'd pass along my message to Brian, the GM. He never did. I eventually emailed Brian and we were able to come to an agreement regarding the second key. Again a horrible experience. Since that time, I have purchased 3 vehicles from 3 dealerships in Texas and haven't had any of the BS tactics used by any of the 3. Bottom line - DON'T BY A VEHICLE HERE! If you do, negotiate. Play hardball and know what you are walking into. More

Everyone was friendly and courteous. Service was fast. I was helped to get access to the internet so I could work while I wait as well as given a bottle of water. Service was fast. I was helped to get access to the internet so I could work while I wait as well as given a bottle of water. More
