I didn’t have my car for 5 weeks due to the work that needed to be done. During the process, when I called the service members were very helpful and nice. They pressured me into driving an hour away from my home to get the price I wanted on the car. I made it clear I did not want to waste my time or theirs. They agreed to my price of 38,000 dollars so I made to get the price I wanted on the car. I made it clear I did not want to waste my time or theirs. They agreed to my price of 38,000 dollars so I made the trip. I test drove car and agreed to buy the car. This was on a Sat. My bank was closed and I work long hours on my job. So I told them I would not be able to get back until the following Sat but gave them the information to send the purchase order to my bank. I did some paperwork while at the dealership and thought the deal was solid. As I walking out the door the gentleman that I did the test drive said technically he had to inform me that the car might not be there the following Sat. Then he winked at me and said”don’t worry Ms Yancey the car will be here” Mind you no one asked me to put any money down to hold the car. I would have done so. On that Monday I got a text from Hannah saying she had sent /faxedthe purchase order to my bank, Emory Alliance Credit Union. I confirmed that they had received it and they had contacted me. I am thinking this deal is done. I was to pick up the check Friday morning and take it to the dealership on Sat to get the car. I work 16 hour shifts at the hospital and the weekend was the only time I could make this happen. I told them that from the first visit.Hannah did contact me about possibly having the car delivered and getting the payment earlier in the week, but again I said no due to my work schedule. I was working 0630 am to 1130 pm on those days. I am still thinking the deal is solid because we have a purchase order. My bank had me electronically sign the paperwork on Thursday in plenty of time to pick up the check on Friday. However, Hannah called me Wednesday evening and said 2 more people were coming to look at the car on Thursday and she couldn’t promise the car would still be there. I was extremely upset because I felt like the dealership went back on the deal in a shady way at the last minute. If we didn’t have a purchase order I could have accepted that. Hannah said she would call me and let me know if they sold the car Thursday. She also asked me if I would consider doing business with the dealership in the future and I said NO after being treated this way. Hannah did not call me on Thursday to update on the status of the car. So I assumed it did not sell. On Friday morning I decided I had better call before picking up the check and driving an hour to the dealership. When I did she confirmed they sold the car on Thursday. They didn’t even have the decency to call and let me know as promised. This whole thing was a huge waste of my time. It could have been handled better. I think the Consumer Protection Agency should open a file on it. Horrible experience overall. More
