Kind and honest auto dealer? Yes! I'm sitting by the fireplace on a snowy winter day, dogs napping next to me, iPad in hand, reading my email. I need to shovel the walk way. I need to I'm sitting by the fireplace on a snowy winter day, dogs napping next to me, iPad in hand, reading my email. I need to shovel the walk way. I need to get up and take the dogs out. I need to go do the recycling. I need to make an appt. for my son to get his driver's license...which leads to me think about which car he should drive for the test. And that reminds me of something I WANT to do... I stopped by and made an appointment for the winter tire change over about three months ago and asked Leslie to do a brake job too. A complete, front and back, brake replacement. A somewhat expensive service to be sure. I wasn't looking forward to it but at the last visit in the spring she had mentioned that the mechanic told her the vehicle would probably need brakes soon. I didn't ask how much it would be. I didn't say do it if you want to or if it needs it. I just said change the tires, do a full brake replacement. She was going away for a few days and said Lynn would take care of the car when we dropped it off. Appointment made. We left the car off after hours, filled out the form, dropped the envelope and key in the slot. I had signed the form and authorized them to spend up to $2000 without notifying me. The next day Lynn called us in the AM. He tells us that the car doesn't really need a brake job. It will last until spring. I remember laughing and saying "okay...?". He informs me that they'll just do the tire swap and the car will be ready after lunch. I gave them every reason to overcharge us. They could of changed the brakes, billed us a bunch, and we would of been happy. I asked them to ! I told them to. But nope...My wife dropped me off to get the Touareg. $60 charge, car's washed, winter tires on. Lynn walks me to the car, shakes my hand, and off I went. That is customer service at its finest. It really is a joy to deal with these folks. Are garages supposed to act like this? Yes, they are. And this one does. A big thanks to Lynn, Leslie, the anonymous honest service tech, and the rest at Kinney VW. Now, I need to take the dogs out. -Michael More

I was working with Bethany; however, I also had the privilege of meeting many Kinney Motors representatives. The entire process was very quick and professional. We were able to come to a deal in less than a week. As one of the main reasons for upgrading my vehicle from a 4 door sedan to an SUV was due to our every growing family, our newest addition was able to join me; Sasha, our 3 month old Great Dane. Everyone at Kinney Motors was so excited to have her present. Being pet friendly is a major win in my book. Even while we were ironing out paperwork, one of the Kinney Motors reps was able to play with Sasha or keep her at ease. Like I said, enough great things cannot be said about this dealership. I highly recommend this dealership. Greg made the financial portion a breeze and really outlined warranty information as well as trade value. P.S. As a side note, I was so excited to get into my new vehicle that I accidentally left important personal information in my previous vehicle. Bethany and Greg were able to expedite shipping and get me my personal belongings in no time at all. These are genuinely great people. More

It was purchased "AS IS" no warranty etc. I don't mind taking a gamble on such a nice car an an absolute steal of a price:) With that said, it is like going to an auction without the fees of obtaining a wholesaler license. You can't test drive the vehicle so you roll the dice, sometimes you and sometimes you lose. Well the car drove perfect and we made it home safely:) They call me "The Gambler". More
Great price, easy to do business with. I found a 1999 Volvo V70 online at autotrader.com by accident, after spending 2 days looking for a low dollar car and failing to find one. We called t I found a 1999 Volvo V70 online at autotrader.com by accident, after spending 2 days looking for a low dollar car and failing to find one. We called the dealer to ask some questions about the car and at first the salesman said there was a $291 fee on top of the asking price and on top on registration fees and sales tax. We explained that that we would not be paying that on a car of such low value. The salesman called back and gave a price for all fees and document charge that was less than the the original asking price of the car. Once we were at the dealership and started paperwork, the price was dropped even more. I know how wheeling and dealing works and obviously dealers dont have much invested in older trade ins, but it was still nice that they were able to work with me. Some places wont and would rather stick it to another buyer that doesnt ask. The salesman Bailey was a pleasure to do business with. More

Ripped Off on Battery Install Let me just say I have never had to have a battery installed in any vehicle in over 30 years of ownership. It is not rocket science and should not tak Let me just say I have never had to have a battery installed in any vehicle in over 30 years of ownership. It is not rocket science and should not take long especially if terminals are clean. Unfortunately I was on a road trip and did not have any tools needed to get to the bracket holding the battery on my 2012 TDI Jetta Wagon, so I had to stop at a dealer to get my battery replaced. The price of the replacement battery was as per other dealers (they could not fit me in on my drive southward on Route 7) and luckily Kinney could fit me in on my way. I was very grateful until I got my bill for the installation charge of $84 plus $3.50 for "Environ/Misc." plus tax. I have called around other dealers and you are by far the most expensive. The lowest charge at a VW dealer was $40 for the labor and the highest other than you was $60. The actual cost of the VW battery seems very consistent. There are some dealers who quote a total job rate ranging $179 total including tax to $220 not including tax. So I guess there are other who fall into the "rip off category" as well since the battery itself is around $137. What is most interesting is that your Subaru service department quoted $28.50 to replace a battery. With the correct tools, is it really that different - I don't think so. I know it is not. Your service rep who helped was very pleasant and she really was very understanding about fitting me in, but $84 to take out 1 retaining bolt and loosen and tighten 2 terminal bolts to replace a battery is frankly obscene. And please don't try and spin that you need to reset the warning indicators, because they go off after just a bit of driving. In the midst of owners already questioning their purchase of a VW product especially a TDI, you would think that anything you can do for good will would be advisable, but you justify yourself in this charge and actually told the VW regional rep who followed up on my complaint, that you charge even more to VW under warranty. This is called pure greed and what makes dealers have a lousy reputation. I am disgusted and wished I had gone to my dealer next week, time is money so I chose to go to you, but I never expected to be ripped off. More
