I was driving from Sudbury, VT to Boston when the "check engine" light in my Audi A6 began flashing. Since the car was missing badly, I went directly to Kinney Motors, the Audi dealer in Rutland. Of course, I had no appointment and their shop appeared to be busy so I left the car and had my wife pick me up. I would have to take her car to Boston, which would have left her without a car for the week. I intended to pick up my car when I returned to Vermont the following weekend. Just after I dropped my wife off in Sudbury (about 28 miles from Rutland) I got a call from the Kinney service department telling me that one of their technicians (Mike) had a few minutes to check the car and had discovered the problem, and that the car would be fixed in 30 minutes.
