Lack of competency to service Prius My Prius failed NJ inspection due to a OBDII code. The Inspection Center printed and gave me the actual report as they are supposed. Based on that I verified Toyota OBDII code diagnostics which said the 3-way coolant flow control valve needs to be replaced. I asked this Toyota dealership Service center to do that. Instead I was told that I have to pay $100+ for diagnostics first and then they will tell me if this is the problem! I asked them why they do not believe Toyota's own OBDII codes and their response was, they cannot be sure if that will fix the problem. So I told them I will get it done elsehwhere and started walking out. The manager then called me back and said they will do the diagnostics free! I thought that was fair and shook hands. Little did I know what will happen next! After a 30 mins, I was told the car had a slew of problems - that it had HVAC problem, Hybrid Control problem, Cruise Control problem, HV battery problem etc! I told them that I never once experienced any of these problems including upto an hour ago when I brought the car to them! I asked the technician what exactly he did and he admitted 'he only hooked to the OBDII terminal and read of it'. So suddenly they seemed to have developed confidence in OBDII codes! Anyway I declined their services and took the car to another certified repair shop licensed to do Inspection repair. They read OBDII, their report came up consistent with what the original inpection center report said ie the same one code which meant the 3-way coolant flow conyrol valve needed replacement. They did that for nearly half the price that the dealership quoted to me (just for that one piece of work - the dealership obviously would have charged me a couple thousand dollars if I had believed their litany of so called troubles!). I drove the car for 40 miles and then went for re-inspection and the car passed with no issues or negative codes. There is no way for me to know whether the Route 22 Toyota Service department was simply incompetent or were trying something worse to get more work and charge for it. Either case it is not a place I will go to in future and would advise anyone interested to avoid them based on this experience More

This was my first time at Route 22 Toyota in search for purchasing a new vehicle; so you can imagine my being uneasy about the whole process. It was not until I was greeted by Richmond Ejiofor that I reali purchasing a new vehicle; so you can imagine my being uneasy about the whole process. It was not until I was greeted by Richmond Ejiofor that I realized how easy and smooth he made all my concerns and worries slowly go away. He was very personable, honest and down to Earth. Because of the trust that developed in such a short period of time, I was comfortable and able to drive home in a 2013 Corolla! Everyone that I have brought to him in these past couple of days from my parents to my friends have nothing but good things to say about him. He is not only a friendly and honest sales employee, but is also a good person. I will definitely continue to recommend him to others. More

Well this is a story for costumers who wants to buy Toyota from this dealer.On July of 2013 I was shopping for a Toyota Sienna.I went to this dealer where I told them what car I want and what option I Toyota from this dealer.On July of 2013 I was shopping for a Toyota Sienna.I went to this dealer where I told them what car I want and what option I want into the car (navigation,leather seats and sunroof).So I been charge for all this option but when they deliver the sienna to me I saw the aftermarket navigation install (value of 500$) when I paid 2200$ for Toyota nav.I just drove the car back to the dealer where I hear all this storys and lies from the finance manager about the factory navigation cant be install in my car and its to late to cancel the deal because it was submitted to the bank.At this point I call the main Toyota office in California and explain to them what bad deal I got from Rt 22 Toyota in Hillside NJ,ten minutes after I make the phone call the finance manager came to me and apologize tell me its his mistake and I have to wait another 3 days or so for him to find the right car.So far so good.Few days later dealer call me to let me know about the new car arrived and its ready for pick up .I went there I took the new care I drop the other car with aftermarket gps .In February 2014 I decide to cancel my warrantys on this new vehicle amount of 3500$ to 4500$.i went back to the same dealer and looks like nobody have time for me and listen to me .they just give me the cancelation form and told me to do it myself .For 10 days I did fax the cancelation form to Toyota for the warrantys to be cancel and nothing happened.In one day I did call Toyota and I been told my warrantys cannot be cancel because they don't have that vin number in the system but the do have a different vin number.Now I start to squiz my brain and think what can be .Anyway when I pick up car number 2 the dealer never give me a new contract to sign so now I end up driving a wrong car acordind to the contract.Been back to the dealer to get a copy of my contract and nobody willing to help by tell me they don't have a copy of the contract ,I did call Toyota back and they did fax me a copy of the contract from previous car what I returned.Now I have the contract with one vin number and the car with differnet vin number.So what im thinking now is maybe the dealer have the second contract where they copy my signature or they don't have one at all for this car .It looks king suspicious to me.I did call back Toyota Financial when the agent told me I have to vins in my system and I sayd I have only one car but if I have 2 cars for what car I do payments,or if u have a second contract please fax it to me becvause I wanna verify my signature on the second contract.The answer from Toyata was I have to wait 7 days for the contract in my mail.OK ,when the contract came and I look was the same contract for car number one.Now im playing the game more serios and I did write letters to costumer affair,better bussines bureau ,Toyota financial and also to the dealer.So sweet costumers if you want to go thru what im going just go and buy cars from this dealer me personal even if im dead I will not go there or if they have free cars I will refuse to go there.A bunch of crooks and liers in Rt 22 Toyota from Hillside New Jersey.
