Terrible used car buying experience, false price advertising I was looking for a used Honda Odyssey, when I noticed a nice model advertised at this dealership. My initial contact on the phone was with Altheda Ba I was looking for a used Honda Odyssey, when I noticed a nice model advertised at this dealership. My initial contact on the phone was with Altheda Bastein, who told me that that they were willing to give me at least $500 off the listed price if I came to see the car. I also specifically asked her if there would be any additional charges and was told that they only charge some kind of $75 fee. To confirm this, Altheda sent this offer to me by email. When I got to the dealership, Melvin Abreu (Sales Manager) and his sales person flat out refused to honor the price provided to me by Altheda. They tried to make up reasons why I should pay even more than the asking sticker price. These included extensive repairs, warranty and even shipping (on a used car!). The Carfax report lists that they have only done some very minimal repairs, such as changing the brakes and wiper blades. In reality it makes no difference what the Carfax says or what they really spent on the vehicle. The real problem is that this dealer tries to hassle people for money and they will not honor their quoted discounted or even sticker prices. I even agreed to sign an "AS-IS" condition sale, so I won't have to buy the so-called $795 mandatory 90 days warranty. The fact is the state of NY Lemon Law provides automatic coverage for dealer sold used cars for 90 days/4,000 mi. for vehicles with less than 36,000 miles. It further requires car dealers to provide a written proof of this coverage. But, even with this "warranty" off the table, Melvin would still only sell me the car for $1,000 more than what they committed to in the email and on the phone. When I wrote an email to Melvin to give him another chance to sell me the car at the promised discounted price, he responded that it was magically sold the next day. A week later, the car is still on their web site and a call to the dealership confirmed that it is still available. It is this dishonest and unethical practice that gives good car dealers a bad name. Unable to obtain the vehicle registration On 8/11/14, I sent an email to the General Manager and the Sales Manager asking them if the had my permanent registration and title. On 8/12/14 I called Hyundai Corporate's customer support and opened a case with Heather. She said she would call the dealership and then get back to me. She never did After opening a case @1628 on 8/12/14 someone named "Carol" from Rockland Hyundai told me that my registration was in the dealership and she mailing it to me today. When I did not receive the registration on 8/13/14 I called Hyundai Corporate's customer support and told them that I still did not receive my registration. I spoke to CJ and found out that corporate closed the case. After back and forth with CJ and another corporate customer care representative name Anthony I found out that my vehicle's title was still at the dealership. Anthony refused to help at all. Anthony told me it was not his problem because he was part of Hyundai America . Anthony refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor. I called again and spoke to CJ who told me to go to the dealership and get the registration. I refused. Why should I have to drive to the dealership again? On 8/14/14 I spoke to Sunny from corporate executive management she told me she spoke to the dealership and customer support about my complaints. After speaking to the dealership she assured my that my registration was in the mail. On 8/15/14 I still did not receive my registration. I spoke to Anthony again and he refused to help and gave me s belligerent supervisor named David who refused to do anything. I also found out that there is no Carol who works at the dealership. Anthony and David accused me of lying. Supposedly I have a corporate case manager name Carol who stated in notes that she spoke to me which is a lie. I told Anthony and David this and the said in the notes that she spoke to me. I said the notes are a lie as I never spoke to her. What ever happened to the customer is always right? This is not so with Rockland Hyundai, Hyundai Corporate, and Hyundai Corporate customer support. Every time I spoke to Sunny her answer was I am taking notes. She even tried calling Rockland Hyundai's general manager and was "unavailable" for corporate. I told her that the dealership does not even respect corporate. I told don't call me anymore and that corporate and Rockland Hyundai won and that I will apply to NYS DMV for a replace registration. Now I will end up paying twice for my vehicle's registration. Finally, I told sunny that my family has bought five care from Rockland Hyundai in the past and that I will never again buy a Hyundai product and neither will my family. More

Wonderful experience Zoran was so nice to us. When we forst walked into the dealership he introduced himself and wad very friendly. He let us walk the lot ourselves. I did Zoran was so nice to us. Once I finally selected my Elantra, he took us on a simple teat drive and I knew I fell in love with the car. It was really easy to get to the monthly payment I needed to be at. Poor Service I purchased a 2011 Hyundai Sonata - a certified preowned vehicle - and am having issues with electrical components in my car. My local Hyundai dealer I purchased a 2011 Hyundai Sonata - a certified preowned vehicle - and am having issues with electrical components in my car. My local Hyundai dealer diagnosed the problem as related to an after market remote car starter installed in the vehicle and refused to cover the repair under the warranty. They also advised that I contact Rockland Hyundai. I called Rockland Hyundai several times before being told by Tony - a sales manager - to come down and Rockland would absolutely have the installers fix the problem. Upon arriving I was told that as Rockalnds installers did not do the work they could not fix the car under the warranty and advised me to visist the delaer where the remote starter was installed. I drove 3 hours to get this taken care of. No one in service cares that I bought the car with the remote starter installed - in fact my salesman stressed the remote starter as a selling point - and are not willing to help put in any way shape or form. I asked to speak to the GM - and was told he wasn't in/ I also asked for the name of the Rockland Hyundai owner and was told no one knew his name. After I questioned how they don't know who employs them I was told that there are several owners. I then asked for any one of ther names and again was told no one knew anyones name. I know there is a risk buying a ised car. And I know I bought this car 3 hours from my home. I just feel like I am getting the run around and no one cares or is willing to help. Overall the attitude is very cavalier and dismissive. More
