Unbelievably Conniving & Epitome of Sneaky Dealer I am in the market for a used Toyota Tacoma. I saw an ad for a 2008 Toyota Tacoma which had 27 pictures which made me happy because the truck looked I am in the market for a used Toyota Tacoma. I saw an ad for a 2008 Toyota Tacoma which had 27 pictures which made me happy because the truck looked clean. However, you needed about 5 more pictures to see the true condition of the truck which included a huge dent on the rear driver side bed behind the wheel; spare tire mounting damaged and no longer able to hold the spare; various dents which cause rust on front and sides. Ok- so lets move on from this. I had a vehicle I wanted to trade in. A 2007 Toyota Solara SLE V6 with 140k miles and all options. I used NADA as basis and the trade in was $7k for clean car which it is. They said they can only offer $4k on my trade. There posted selling price on Tacoma with 140k miles and all that damage was $12,600. So I asked them to give me the pricing in terms of my car plus how much cash out the door. The salesman took a while but he has the audacity to tell me my car plus $13,900. I did a really quick calculation and if I took $12,600 muliplied by 1.08375 (tax rate) I get about 13,655. Basically, they wanted to get my car for $500 not $4000. I immediately asked for my car keys and they held onto them and tried to negotiate. I was disgusted, my father was agitated and it took them 45 minutes to give me my car keys back. This is the way a third world dealer would operate- not a namebrand dealership. If they call me back and offer the trade head for head, I would never do it. I dealt with Gervais and he wasnt the problem. It was their GSM and I forgot his name. More
