The service dept manager Phillip, is telling me the reason why my 16 Chevy Malibu car is losing acceleration is bc of the water that’s getting into my trunk, which I damaging the “electrical sensors” i reason why my 16 Chevy Malibu car is losing acceleration is bc of the water that’s getting into my trunk, which I damaging the “electrical sensors” in my trunk. I took it in for a diagnostic. I was told about the rear light that’s causing water to leaking into the trunk. They told me they had to go further into my car to find the issue bc they couldn’t diagnose it. Then upon calling to see was the the issue found they told me it was $500+ bc of the additional time it took to find the issue and that all they needed to do was lubricate the wires to the computer. Cool. Engine light immediately comes back on back car is driving fine until about 2 weeks later and the same issue that I took the car in for comes back up, no Acceleration. Maybe I’m just dumb but it doesn’t seem like the water leaking into the car through the trunk would cause the car to not accelerate. Told me it would be another $700 to take the carpet out of my trunk to find out why my car has lost acceleration, again. More
